The Trump Administration is once again trying to deny science and reality – this time, by throwing out the well-established research connecting the climate crisis to public health.

While the Trump Administration can try to ignore the climate crisis, it’s painfully clear that the climate crisis will not ignore us. Last summer, the US experienced a dozen once-in-1,000-year floods in the span of just three days. In Texas, one of those flooding events killed at least 135 people, including 37 children at summer camp.

The Trump Administration’s rollback of the endangerment finding is not only a direct assault on science, knowledge, and public health, it is an insult to the people across the country who are already coping with the disastrous consequences of climate-driven extreme weather events.

The decision to revoke the endangerment finding is one of the more egregious examples of the Trump Administration prioritizing fossil fuel profits over American lives.

4 days out from my life-changing surgery, @Aetna has denied the appeal for my brain surgery.

to be clear, when i signed up to aetna months ago, the coordinator had confirmed they would cover this surgery. then, a week ago, they said the surgery was too experimental/elective and denied coverage. we appealed. that appeal was just denied today.

now, my neurosurgeon is trying to do a peer-to-peer consult with someone at aetna to explain why i need it so we don’t lose the surgery date on monday morning. aetna is not being responsive.

this is sadistic and a violation of basic trust. please spread this so they can’t ignore it. they may not care if i live or die but people should know just what kind of company they’re dealing with. and please pray they are able to have a peer-to-peer consult with my neurosurgeon and have a change of heart.

This is horrific.

What is unfolding is not just a policy change. It is a direct assault on life-saving medical progress. By suppressing mRNA research and halting the development of critical vaccine programs, we are denying people access to some of the most advanced disease-prevention technologies ever developed.

mRNA vaccines are no longer just about COVID.

They are now being developed to prevent cancers like melanoma and lung cancer, protect newborns from congenital infections like cytomegalovirus (CMV), and defend against global threats like avian influenza, RSV, HIV, malaria, Lyme disease, and Zika. Several of these vaccines are already in Phase 3 trials, and some were just years away from approval.

That future is now being deliberately dismantled.

This is not a matter of policy disagreement. It is a betrayal of public health, rooted in misinformation and fear. It disregards scientific evidence, abandons medical innovation, and puts millions at long-term risk. The cost will not be measured in dollars.

It will be measured in cancers not prevented, diseases not controlled, and lives not saved.

The consequences must be called what they are: preventable mass death on a national scale.
