PhD candidate in Programming Languages nearing thesis submission looking for (ideally remote) positions from Oslo, Norway. Some topics I'm interested in are compilers, verification, security, and cryptography. DM for resume! RTs appreciated😊
Congratulations today to Dr. @annam_ei, who successfully defended her PhD dissertation "Improving the Usability of Refactoring Tools for Software Change Tasks" at the University of Bergen @UiB! 🎉 (1/5)
@pati_gallardo Clearly. I'm gluten intolerant so I can't have waffles, which is probably why I was able to do a PhD in computer science despite my unfortunate gender.
@BruceOnlyBruce Prepare for the case where you speak too slow or too fast by adding expected timestamps to your speaker's notes and keeping a timer in your field of vision. Then, in your notes, scope out a few optional points that you can skip if you are behind schedule.
@pati_gallardo But then we might get more female programmers, which there is no reason whatsoever to want.

That post had my blood boiling all of yesterday.
This was an amazing episode w/ Dr. @gail_murphy. I learned:
- how OSS is a triumph of information hiding & modularity
- how OSS libraries are incredibly interdependent, but still enables vibrant co-evolution
- a 30m extravaganza of reflections of Dr. @carlissbaldwin discoveries!
⚠️Two weeks until the #IWoR2021 abstract submission deadline!

How do different fields review papers? In 2021, I served on the PCs of @PLDI (programming languages), @ICSEconf (software engineering), and @acm_ccs (security). How do papers, reviews, and processes compare? And which dos and don'ts did I learn? Enjoy! https://t.co/ksOjqWIRCA
We’ve just added built-in citation support to GitHub so researchers and scientists can more easily receive acknowledgments for their contributions to software.
Just push a CITATION.cff file and we’ll add a handy widget to the repo sidebar for you.
Enjoy! 🎉
Working on an awesome paper related to software refactoring? Your place is IWoR’21, co-located with @ASE_conf'21. Paper submission deadline: Aug 20, 2021 (AoE). Check out the CFP!
