@focusfronting In Oslo single ticket is 42 krones and monthly pass is 897 krones, so you need to make only 22 trips to make it worth it (which is maybe even too generous but I have no idea how the prices are decided)

@rafaerts @HillLabSask @KU_Leuven I thought so too! I also stayed with my PhD supervisor for an extra year (although with different affiliation). My guess it's a university stance – some places discourage PhDs staying as postdocs (to kinda push them to explore)

@mnwsth @vishesh_sood There are countries where PhD students are considered employees by law. Regardless, you're producing research output – so of course you're working. So yes, PhD years can and should be recognised as a work experience.

@vishnusreekr I learned R exclusively from https://t.co/LzCh58TDY6 First chapter of each course is free so you can test if you like it. Then it 40€ per month for unlimited access to courses which I think is doable (you don't have to keep it for long, maybe couple months to start?)
