@HoustonCVPE The eclipse had to be one of the most spectacular sights of my life. We got to watch it from start to finish. And saw the ring of fire! Not only is this an experience of a lifetime, but could easily integrate dozens of content standards. This was outright deprivation.
@SteeleThoughts@johnccarver Working on my masters degree at the university a professor gave each of us a sticker as we left class. At first we thought it was pretty strange. Then one day he did not have stickers. We were truly disappointed! Will never forget that. Those stickers mattered! 😊 😁

During informal observations, I often left the buts behind ( I didn't praise, and then add a but). I focused on things done well, left an encouraging note, or post it of praise and left. Not every observation needs critique added for growth. Leave the buts behind!
Hot Take: Public education was originally designed to cultivate workers rather than thinkers, but the emphasis on standardized tests in modern education fails to achieve either goal. Because they tend to prioritize rote memorization and superficial learning over deep comprehension and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, the emphasis on standardized tests can create a narrow focus on subjects that are easily testable, potentially neglecting other crucial aspects of education such as creativity, innovation, emotional intelligence, and practical life skills.
