El póster de “Coyote vs ACME” es una referencia a Sísifo. El hombre que fue condenado a subir una piedra por una cuesta inclinada por el resto de la eternidad. Cuando estaba a apunto de llegar, la roca caía teniendo que repetir el ciclo infinitamente.

Esto es una referencia al ciclo infinito del coyote persiguiendo al correcaminos, sin importar que ocurra siempre regresan al estatus quo original.

En la película, “Sísifo” también tiene un contexto, ya que se revela que A.C.M.E. prueba sus productos defectuosos con caricaturas, causándoles daños físicos y psicológicos. A este secreto lo llaman “proyecto Sísifo” y juega un papel muy importante dentro de la historia.

Bolón de verde is an iconic Ecuadorian dish named after its shape—a dense ball (bolón) made from green plantains. While enjoyed nationwide, the version from the coastal Esmeraldas region is particularly famous for its generous proportions and rich filling.

To make it, unripe plantains are fried until soft, then mashed while warm into a cohesive dough. This base is folded together with chopped chicharrón (crispy pork belly) and fresh local cheese before being shaped into a large sphere and fried a second time to build a crisp outer crust.

Hearty and savory, it is one of Ecuador's most popular morning staples, typically served hot with ají chili sauce and black coffee.

Dolly Parton casi chocó su automóvil la primera vez que escuchó a Whitney Houston cantar “I Will Always Love You”.

La canción había nacido casi 20 años antes, cuando Dolly decidió separarse profesionalmente de Porter Wagoner, el hombre que había impulsado su carrera.

Como él se negaba a dejarla marchar, ella escribió una despedida y se la cantó.

Porter terminó llorando.

Tiempo después, Elvis Presley quiso grabarla. Para Dolly era un sueño, hasta que su representante le exigió entregar la mitad de los derechos de autor. Aunque necesitaba el dinero, se negó.

Aquella decisión cambió su vida.

En 1992, Kevin Costner eligió la canción para “The Bodyguard” y Whitney Houston la convirtió en un fenómeno mundial. Dolly escuchó la versión por primera vez mientras conducía y tuvo que detenerse: estaba tan emocionada que temió sufrir un accidente.

“Tomó mi pequeña canción y la convirtió en algo enorme”, recordaría después.

La versión le generó cerca de 10 millones de dólares en regalías. Dolly invirtió parte de ese dinero en un complejo de oficinas situado en un barrio históricamente afroamericano de Nashville.

Lo llamó «la casa que Whitney construyó».

Dolly escribió la canción. Whitney la hizo volar. Y entre las dos crearon una despedida que el mundo nunca pudo olvidar.

Ahora las dos nos han dejado, pero juntas hicieron que una canción de despedida se volviera eterna.

Steel Magnolias is my personal favorite Dolly Parton film. This film is totally heartbreaking and emotionally crushing. With Parton gone, it takes on a new meaning. Parton’s strength as an actress was her relatability - you felt like you knew her. Her loss is a tremendous one. RIP to a legend.
