Very excited to share our new article about the prevalence of intimate partner violence-related brain injury out today in Current Epidemiology Reports! More research is urgently needed on the link between BI & IPV perpetration.

We're hopeful our review highlights the high prevalence of brain injury in those who experience and perpetrate intimate partner violence as well as the need for epidemiological research in this area!

🚨 So excited that our paper - a scoping review of the prevalence of brain injury in survivors and perpetrators of partner violence - is published in Current Epi Reports! Very grateful for this collaboration w/ @juliakcampbell@EmRothman@EveValera2

In our review, we found that BI estimates varied considerably depending on how BI was defined; with TBI estimates ranging from 28.1 to 100% and strangulation-related BI from 27–56% in those who experienced partner violence
BI estimates among perpetrators of IPV ranged from 5-75%
@izzyabelite@realkatieduggan@jbouie Of course, would not imagine streaming this or any other school only movie (e.g., a funny thing happened on the way to the forum)
Excited to present work from my master’s thesis at #ISTSS2021 on the role of alexithymia in symptom reporting for women who have experienced partner violence and brain injury with @dr_scoots@ValeraLabMGH@ISTSS_Students@ISTSSnews https://t.co/xACZKVdtzN
