Word on the street is that having a STRIPES account is mandatory to be eligible for Elon's ad revenue sharing or monetisation. This is NOT true. But because of this, many users in Nigeria could not partake in Elon Money today. PAIN π
While researching, I watched some stressful YouTube videos on how to create a STRIPES ACCOUNT. The tortuous process involved creating a virtual business name in the US, obtaining a virtual US address, paying for a virtual US phone number, a US Bank account number and all kinds of yahoo-yahoo- like stuffs. I ran! π€£
Anyway, here are the steps to sign up for Elon Musk's monetisation.
1. Sign up for Twitter Blue to get your account verified. You could use VPN on your TwitterX mobile app to bypass the restrictions that say it is not "available" in Nigeria, or sign into Twitter using your laptop browser.
2. Signing up for Twitter Blue is fairly straightforward. Clicking on the Twitter Blue will take you to the payment page, where you select whether to pay for your subscription, monthly or annually.
3. I paid with my Nigerian Naira debit bank card.
Now to the main deal: STRIPES ACCOUNT.
4. After your #TwitterX account is verified, just log into your Twitter account from a laptop (NOT YOUR PHONE). Top left, scroll to MONETISATION and if you're qualified, you'll see two options:
i) Subscription
ii) Ad Revenue Sharing
For today, we are interested in 'ii.'
Click on it, and two options would appear:
a) Create a STRIPES account
b) Link an existing STRIPES account.
5. Select the FIRST option and it takes you to the page below. Input your email address and Nigerian phone number and continue.
6. Next, put in your contact address, upload your identity card (International Passport, or Driver's License or National ID Card) and just follow the prompts till you get to the second frame below. ππΎ
7. This is where you input your Nigerian bank details but you need your CORRECT BANK SWIFT CODE. If you're not sure of your bank swift code, call your bank or Google it. Add your Nigerian bank account number and voila!
You're good to go!
The last page shows what it looks like at the end.
BONUS: you can also verify your STRIPES account and set up two-factor authentication for additional security.
Let me know if this was helpful. βπ½
Cheers! π₯

Arsenal beat Manchester City and win Community Shield! π΄βͺοΈπ
Itβs second Community Shield and third trophy in total for Mikel Arteta since he joined Arsenal in 2019.
Itβs Community Shield number 17 in Arsenal history.
No money to feed hungry Nigerians, no palliatives for the poor. Nigerians have become hopeless. But there is money for war in Niger Republic. Do you see how heartless the leadership in Nigeria is?
Can you see their immediate priorities? What type of wicked hypocrisy is that?
They want to distract us with war. When you people are done fighting in Niger, please return the stolen mandate with alacrity!
Tinubu did not win the election!
Tinubu did not qualify to run for president but corruption made it happen.
#alleyesonAsoRock because they want to start a war that would destroy Nigeria and prevent the judiciary from reading their judgment. Tinubu might even attack the courthouse and blame Niger for it! Theyβd do anything to avoid getting disqualified.
#AllEyesOnTheJudiciary because Justice Tsammani is joking with millions of Nigerians by asking Chris Uche SAN to forgive Tinubu.
BREAKING: Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially expressed his wish to invade Niger Republic. He has sent official approval request to the βrubber & stampβ Nigerian Senate. Brace up Nigerians! Brace up Africa! War is at your doorsteps. The region of Sahel is about to go up in flames.
Niger Republic has cut ties with Nigeria as peace talk fail. Burkina Faso has raised the alert level of its troops to a State of War. But coups are merely the symptoms of the problem, coups are not the problem themself. When Tinubu stole election in Nigeria, where was the ECOWAS?
When sit tight W-African leaders perpetuate themselves in office, how does ECOWAS respond? βWhen African democracies enslave the people of Africa, know that the fire will consume Africa.β Things are now in motion that may not be undone. War between brothers is about to begin.
ECOWAS (Nigeria more specifically) played its card too early. The protests in Niger organized by the M62 Anti-French Group is no joke. You have anti-French sentiments everywhere. ECOWAS is the aggressor here. When a people want to be left alone, by all means βleave them alone!β
Iβm a Pacifist, I could never support coups nor wars. In this case, itβs an unprovoked, very unnecessary war. Think of the casualties on both sides, the unimaginable, unmitigated human & material losses. How do you begin to comprehend the no justification? Where do u start from?
It may be a Palace Coup, but one with international dimension nonetheless. Russia wonβt fail to come to the aid of Niger. So I see the balkanization of the ECOWAS in its immediate aftermath. Like the Austro-Hungarian Empire, ECOWAS is about to fragment. BUT HOW DID WE GET HERE?
Whatever happens in Niger Republic, Historians will talk about the cause & aftermath for years. I hope & I do pray the ECOWAS will hold off its advance. But if they do charge in, I have no prayers for any troops nor leaders. Somehow, the war must come for Africa to move forward!
