Elementary school taught me that being different was a problem. So I fixed it. Talked differently. Listened differently.

Cut off the people who reminded me of where I was from. Sure, I fit in better. But something was missing.

Turns out the thing that was missing was me. Your differences aren't the problem, they're the point.
