Climate shocks rise, so does WFP’s action. At #NAPExpo, we joined partners to spotlight urgent needs for stronger resilience, by connecting early warning mechanisms, disaster risk management, food systems, and smart financing to protect vulnerable communities.
Today, @WFP & @RefugeesRwanda briefed partners on the food security & nutrition situation for refugees in Rwanda & the Middle East crisis. Declining funding has reduced #foodassistance, increased #vulnerability & #worsened food security. $8.5M is urgently needed for food in 2026.
Proud to stand with @RBCRwanda & @SwissDevCoop in strengthening Rwanda’s fight against #stunting. Today’s handover of weighing scales &height boards enables early detection of malnutrition risks, ensuring timely intervention by health workers. Together, working 2 reduce stunting.
Today, @WFP 🇷🇼 staff joined the @UNRwanda family, partners & survivors to honour former UN staff who were killed in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
We honour their memory, uphold survivors’ resilience & reaffirm our commitment to #NeverAgain. #Kwibuka32#PreventGenocide

Happy to join today’s south-south panel alongside gov't, academia &partners to discuss the future of disaster response. @WFP supports collabo that bridges research & implementation, connecting 🇷🇼with partners like Malaysia to scale practical DRM solutions & strengthen resilience.
At the #BOSAI exhibition today, I was inspired by innovative, proven technologies from Japanese companies advancing disaster risk reduction. @WFP is proud to continue working with GoR, @japaninrwanda & partners to strengthen Rwanda’s DRM agenda and resilience to future shocks.
Happy #IWD2026!

🌱70% of Rwandan families rely on farming, yet climate extremes threaten livelihoods. With @RwandaGov & @novonordiskfond, WFP promotes #ConservationAgriculture & supports the national school feeding program, which nourishes 4M+ students. Stronger farming = stronger communities.
Today, Minister Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Albert MURASIRA witnessed the signing of an agreement to formalise the joint Refugee Socio-Economic Graduation and Livelihood Opportunities in Rwanda” project between @EUinRW, @RefugeesRwanda and the @WFP_Rwanda. This three-year project is designed to support 3,200 refugee families and 800 host community families to achieve greater self-reliance in meeting their basic needs.
The project marks a significant step forward in implementing Rwanda’s Refugee Sustainable Graduation Strategy (2025–2030), a landmark initiative that aims to help 50% of refugee households in Rwanda transition from dependence on humanitarian assistance to sustainable livelihoods by 2030.
The initiative is made possible through a 10,000,000 Euros contribution from the European Union, underscoring its strong commitment to advancing durable solutions for refugees and host communities.
A journey through Rwanda’s history to remember & honor our WFP colleagues & all those who lost their lives in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
Thank you, Rwanda, for your path of unity, reconciliation & peace. May you continue to be a beacon for others still seeking healing.
Today at MINAGRI, the Government of Rwanda and the United Nations World Food Programme @WFP launched a new Comprehensive Food Security and Vulnerability Analysis (CFSVA) assessment whose findings show that 83% of families in Rwanda are food secure, an increase from 79 % in 2021.
