The Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne, an order of nuns, have cared for poor cancer patients free of charge since 1901. Now the New York Department of Health is threatening them with fines, a shut down, and even imprisonment — all because they refuse to play the gender game.

The Department of Health has ordered the sistersto cease separating bedrooms by sex. The sisters have also been ordered to permit cross dressing, to use preferred pronouns, and to “recognize a right to consensual sexual relations, including sex outside of marriage.” The nuns, the DOH has decreed, must attend “cultural competency training” if they are to continue caring for the poor, and surrender the right to live by the tenets of their faith.

I know everybody’s still laughing at the Jason Arday story and wondering how on earth anyone could believe such absolute wild madness.

Well, can I just throw one word into the conversation?

Trans.

Jason Arday is a traditional con artist.

The same people who kissed his arse and believed he’d walked on the moon while helping deliver Queen Victoria's babies are the same people who believe Bob the Builder over there is a woman if he puts a dress on and says the magic words.

These two things are related.

The fact that people can look at Arday and recognise that they’ve been conned, but somehow can’t understand that men who claim to be women can also be con artists, is something I will never quite understand.

It’s the same inability to question the story they’re being sold. They become so invested in believing the narrative that they stop looking at what is actually in front of them.

So can we please have that conversation?

And can the brain-dead people who were fooled by Arday wake up and realise that if they were capable of being fooled that easily once, maybe just maybe they should start questioning some of the other things they’ve been told to believe?

Because the Arday story really should be a wake-up call.

You were fooled.

Now ask yourself why.

In 1916, a pack of dogs attacked a private zoo in Hawaii. Two terrified wallabies broke out of their cage and escaped into the mountains.

What happened next is one of the wildest accidents in wildlife history.

After the wallabies vanished into the forested cliffs of Kalihi Valley, the zoo's owner called for a massive public hunt. Nobody caught them.

A local newspaper joked that they might eventually "produce a breed of Hawaiian wallabies."They were exactly right.

Despite being 5,000 miles from Australia, the steep volcanic rock faces in Hawaii turned out to be the perfect habitat.

By 1984, researchers counted roughly 250 wallabies thriving in the valley. They had even started developing their own unique evolutionary characteristics.
The craziest part?

They aren't considered invasive.They only eat non-native plants.

They don't compete with native species (Hawaii has no native land mammals).
Because they peacefully coexist with the ecosystem, the state of Hawaii officially protects them. It is strictly illegal to hunt or harm a Hawaiian wallaby.

Back in their native Australia, the brush-tailed rock wallaby is fighting for its life. Predators, habitat clearing, and the devastating 2019-2020 bushfires wiped out an estimated 70% of their remaining habitat.

But that accidental Honolulu colony?
They have no foxes. No feral cats in the cliffs. No bushfires.

Two wallabies that broke out of a cage 110 years ago accidentally founded what might be the most secure population of their species anywhere on Earth.
