You are factually, conceptually and fundamentally wrong in your understanding of Sanatan Dharma and its festivals.

Factually Incorrect:

Raksha Sutra (रक्षा सूत्र) has never been restricted exclusively to a sister tying it to her brother. Our traditions recognise the sacred thread of protection across different relationships and contexts, including Lakshmi Ji and King Bali in a non-biological brother-sister bond, Indrani and Indra in the context of husband and wife, and the wider Guru, priest, disciple and ritual traditions.

The traditional shloka itself recalls King Bali:

येन बद्धो बली राजा दानवेन्द्रो महाबलः।
तेन त्वामनुबध्नामि रक्षे मा चल मा चल॥

This shloka invokes the sacred bond of protection associated with King Bali and is traditionally recited while tying the Raksha Sutra, asking that the protective bond remain firm and unbroken.

Therefore, you are factually incorrect.

Conceptually Flawed:

Even if a particular relationship were not explicitly mentioned in any scripture, nothing in Sanatan Dharma prohibits two individuals from tying a Raksha Sutra wherever there is love, affection, responsibility and a feeling of protection.

Whether between two sisters, an employer and employee, friends, or even a human being and a beloved pet, where the sentiment of Prema and Raksha exists, Sanatan Dharma does not require a verse explicitly prescribing that particular relationship before such an expression can be considered valid.

Hence, your conceptual understanding is also flawed.

Ignorance about Sanatan:

Perhaps your narrow and myopic understanding comes from being accustomed to religious systems that function primarily as rigid codes, where something must be explicitly written and prescribed before it can be considered acceptable or valid.

Sanatan Dharma is not a rigid rulebook written centuries ago and imposed unchanged upon every conceivable human relationship for eternity. It is a living civilisational and spiritual framework rooted in timeless principles, wisdom and values. It provides guidance and helps human beings find the right path according to their circumstances, relationships and responsibilities.

It is a guide, not a dictator.

One suggestion:

Before attempting to mock a tradition that you evidently do not understand, perhaps try studying it beyond the shallow narratives.
