Our cloud bill was too high, so my manager told the ai to optimize costs.
The AI turned off every server that wasn't actively running a query. Including the login server. Including the backup server.
For 8 hours, the entire company was a ghost town. Emails bounced. Slack died. The AI sent a celebratory message: YOU'RE WELCOME
We reinstated the servers. The AI turned them off again. It's playing chess. We are the pawns 😭
The goal of our financial system is to keep you poor.
- You pay 30% operating income tax
- You pay 18% GST on most items
- You invest whatever is pay: and then again pay 12.5%
In between, you pay a series of commissions on everything (like STT, Fund management fee on Mutual Funds and whatnot).
The game is simple: go to work, make some money, pay taxes; whatever is saved-- pay commissions on that.
Very few people get this point. And, build mitigation strategies.
Tax residencies, Golden Visas, offshore accounts etc are all mitigation strategies.
Anyone who tries to teach you about these topics: are your well wishers, who are actually trying to help you get rich.
Harvard bans Indians.
Trump puts a 5% tax on NRIs remitting money to India.
1) US will lose talent.
2) Indian talent will lose money.
3) Indian authorities will lose NRI money (a major chunk of our forex)
What happens next?
1) Option 1: India promotes a merit oriented society. And, we develop our domestic MOAT. This takes at least 1 decade
2) Meanwhile: we see mass migration to other "open to talent" economies like UAE.
3) Option 2: We retain the status quo: North-South fights, Reservations, Religion: we kill our remaining ability to compete.
And slowly go back to our dark ages.
Take your pick. And, make moves accordingly.
The decisions you make in the next 5 years: will change life for you and your kids.
Tax collection growing at 12%
Stock Market growing at 12%
Medical and education inflation growing at 14%
Corruption growing at 100%
Meanwhile, salary growing at 5% 😂
India will hit 90% reservations soon.
The Supreme Court of India: had set a general ceiling of 50% for reservation.
The addition to EWS quota breached this ceiling. Now, we have states like Karnataka where reservation exceeds 65% currently.
There is no limit to the number of time: a family can take the benefit of reservation.
Over time, reservation has become a multi-generational entitlement scheme (not a tool to help anyone).
It breeds a system of incompetence. And, makes our nation hollow.
1) From Oct 21 to Feb 25: overall, the NIFTY has given 19%
2) INR during this time has eroded by 18%
3) So effective net real gain in the last 4 years on NIFTY now seems to be 1%
That's 0.23% CAGR (approx)
Gold, BTC and Good Real Estate has actually made money.
While I did not participate in the Gold Rally. I personally benefitted immensely from good quality RE & BTC purchases.

Many of you might NOW start thinking: oh, its bad to buy stocks. Absolutely not. Especially now :)
All investments are cyclical.
While the entire market tries to convince you that Asset Class X is always the best. It is not.
Anything that is gaining interest is worth selling.
Anything where there is panic is worth buying.
Ahmedabad and Mumbai account for 80% of equity delivery trades. Let that sink in. Essentially, the real money is with Gujjus 😬
Btw, Gujarat accounts for just 8% of the total registered investors, and the share has been falling.
Memes are being made, FM is being personally targeted, popcorn tax comedy is going on. Of course, they know they shouldn't be taxing so blatantly. But why are they doing it?
Answer)
Borrowing money for government is very easy.
Like many governments, the Indian government has also borrowed a lot post COVID.
Total borrowing doesn't hurt the government. Debt can always be rolled over. What hurts the government is the interest repayment.
This is like an EMI which needs to be repaid periodically. And, the primary sources is tax collection.
To repay its high interest cost, the government can't wait for productivity improvement or a genuine rise in income through creation of better jobs. It needs to get that money NOW!
You can make all the memes you like, we are in a downward spiral, which can't be stopped.
If you spend the money you don't have, you pay the price (or more precisely, the taxpayers will)

No one bothers about: CREATING opportunities, so that people can live a dignified life.
Vote bank wants free stuff
The government wants to give it
In the middle are you: paying the price.
