Madam #SwaraBhaskar,
Jauhar was not some impulsive response to a single incident of rape. It was rooted in the fear of capture, enslavement, sexual violence and the loss of dignity after defeat.
And please don’t presume to speak for rape survivors or decide for them what is “worse”—rape or death. That is an intensely personal trauma, not a moral calculation you get to make on their behalf.
Sad to see downfall of a promising enterprise @IGPcom Undelivered orders, cant talk to a human customer support. whatsapp chatbot useless, no response to email & DM on X. from being the goto portal to absolute no go, IGP has come a long way, sadly not in the direction I’d wishd
A government whose leader hasn’t ever given a competitive exam, whose home minister has gone missing after the police targeted unarmed student protestors, most of whose ministers send their children abroad to study can have no skin in reforming exam systems in India . My speech in parliament on the public exam bill, made both as an MP but also as a mother of a doctor who has seen the Indian NEET exam first hand.
When it comes to the debate around whether Homi Jehangir Bhabha should have received the Bharat Ratna, those who truly understand his legacy ( second or third generation) see it differently.
For them, India becoming a nuclear power is recognition enough. They believe he would be content knowing the foundation he laid has brought the country this far. And if the third stage of India’s nuclear program is successfully realized in the next 12–15 years, that would be the real tribute something that would have truly delighted him.
So the real question isn’t Bharat Ratna or not.
The real tribute is this: fund and accelerate more BHAVINI reactors.
Here’s a photo from today that captures the true spirit of India. I, a Hindu campaigning for a Muslim candidate going past Easter celebrations in a local church with the cross behind us.
To all CAPF officers & jawans - we stand with you and against the injustice meted to you by BJP’s Central Govt. IPS officers in your top positions is clear politicisation of CAPF.
The BJP govt hasn’t consulted the trans community & brought a bill which endangers rather than protects them.
The Trinamool Congress unequivocally opposes this Bill.
Wherever you look, there is a complete collapse in morality, decency, public behaviour -- it doesn't matter if you are educated or uneducated/ male or female! Courtesy is a forgotten virtue; stepping aside or making way for people is unknown. Last week I saw two young girls arrogantly brush past a visually-impaired man whose white cane was prominently visible ... they couldn't be bothered to look! Perhaps, they have never been taught to -- just as kids are growing up learning from parents that red, green, and amber lights are street decoration, and one-way rules don't apply to 2-wheelers. Then again, who will hold municipal authorities or the traffic police responsible for correct signage? This is primarily observations from Mumbai. PS: I am sure it doesn't apply to ALL of you reading this -- so dont assume it does and lecture me!
After a decade of being a loyal customer, losing faith in @Decathlon_ind@Decathlon . Unable to use the delivered with missing part, even after 2 months of delivery.
I hang my head in shame when I see the kind of respect and reception has been given to the representative of the world’s worst terrorists group Taliban by those who beat the pulpit against all kind of terrorists . Shame on Deoband too for giving such a reverent welcome to their “ Islamic Hero” who is one of those who have completely banned girls education. My Indian brothers n sisters !!! what is happening to us .
@BluehostIndia very disappointing experience. Forgot to pay your renewal fees and within 3 months you cant recover any data .. I love your WP hosting features but this is not done.. @bluehostsupport
"Get Out of Here:" Mourning family members of victims of the 1985 Air India bombing, Canada's deadliest terror attack, react to Khalistan separatists who came to "stand in solidarity" with them.
Members of Sikhs for Justice, an organization whose leader previously made threats towards Air India, showed up with Khalistan flags to pray for the victims.
They held a press conference and distributed brochures to the family members, irritating them on a very special day.
"This is pathetic!" a victim's family member outcried.
"This has nothing to do with Khalistan — we're here for the specific reason," one attendee protested at the Khalistani presence.
"My husband lost his whole family!" One attendee told to police who confronted her for telling the activists to get out.
"Where were you for the last 39 years? Were you sleeping?" Another questioned.

Presided over the consecration of the new idol of Mother Sita and the "kumbhabhishekam" of the Seetha Amman Temple at Ashok Vatika, on invitation from the government of Sri Lanka. It is here that Lord Hanuman first met Mother Sita, assuring her of being reunited with Lord Rama.
The atmosphere was filled with devotion and joy as gifts arrived from Ayodhya—Lord Rama's birthplace, Janakpur, Nepal—Mother Sita's birthplace, and Kishkinda—Lord Hanuman's birthplace. Devotees from all over had gathered in large numbers to bask in the spiritual energy of the ceremony.
Nestled amidst the lush green mountains of Nuwara Eliya, may this scenic and sacred place inspire hope for women, promising a life free from suffering in a just and prosperous society.
