Orthopaedic Shoulder & Elbow Surgeon at Detroit Medical Center (Detroit, Dearborn, Sterling Heights). Team Physician for Detroit City FC. Opinions are my own.
Incredibly excited to officially start my practice as a Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon at @DMC_Heals! Looking forward to seeing patients in Detroit, Dearborn, and Warren.

@caresource Is it your typical policy to deny surgery for acute tendon ruptures in the dominant arm of a young laborer? Asking for a patient who is supposed to have surgery but is being told that his insurance company (you) hasn’t approved the procedure.

@JaredMahylisMD My indications for a balloon are very narrow but I think keeping them narrow has given me good outcomes. Physiologically young, massive irreparable posterior cuff with either an intact or reparable subscap, minimal OA, and goal is pain relief and fast rehab, not strength.
@Clinorthop Why is this considered “contrary to popular belief”? I feel like it’s well-understood that increased operative time leads to increased complication rates for basically every surgery that we do.
@DollarCars@TMobileHelp I rented a vehicle using T Mobile Magenta status. The check in agent at Dollar didn’t acknowledge the discount code. I was charged closed for $200 for gas. @DollarCars customer service won’t don’t anything to help. Maybe @TMobile can do something?
@Aetna Can you explain to me why my patient’s preoperative CT was approved, but their surgery was denied because they “haven’t done enough physical therapy”? Take a look at this xray and let me know how therapy is supposed to help this patient.
@RapSheet If it’s truly a grade III AC injury, then there’s no reason to proceed directly to surgery. Studies show no difference in outcome between acute and delayed reconstruction.
@LadyInterlocks I switched last year to the double mask — KN95 with the ear loops over buttons on my scrub cap, then a sticky green mask on top. No fog, no tape, no issues. Highly recommend.
