How did Everest get to be the world's tallest mountain? Luck, apparently. And also India. Find out more in my latest for @AGU_Eos! Many thanks to @kplars, @antarctica360, and more for their insights. https://t.co/LqrFxmssZz

Also, shout out to @SBCSAR and @SBCFIRE for getting the missing person back off the trail and to the ambulance where he is receiving medical attention.
New paper re-examining low dispersion ID Lu-Hf geochronology in the Himalaya using in situ methods with @antarctica360 @CrustalEvo and others: https://t.co/kLBX4Bufia Quick summary? - Previously published ID dates appear to reflect mixing of Paleozoic cores and Cenozoic rims
New open access paper out detailing the metamorphic, intrusive, and cooling histories of an under-studied portion of Northern Pakistan with @CrustalEvo @antarctica360 S.Faisal and M. Searle https://t.co/DvGHT6et0c
Geo-Twitter people! I’d like to take a moment to spam you about the session Dennis Newell and I are convening at @geosociety Connects 2023! Our friend and colleague, Micah Jessup, is retiring due to health concerns. We’re hoping to pull together an amazing session to honor him
It was a real pleasure to sit down with Oliver Strimpel to discuss research and the #petrochronology revolution. Take a listen if you want to learn more about our unique lab facility and the science we do at @EarthSciUCSB
Listen to John Cottle @antarctica360 on the petrochronology revolution that he and his team at @UCSB ushered in with the laser ablation split-stream method. Thousands of crystal domain measurements in mere hours.

@AndrewDessler Fairly certain this is correct, but I can't find the photo I saw a few months ago. I vaguely recall @drmichellelarue posting about this?
@JenniferLLamp Perfect! Happy Birthday! You just have to ignore the surly staff. The cake and coffee are worth it, plus everything in the store is for sale, which I guess may or may not be useful to you…
@JenniferLLamp 2) I would take some time (which is hard to find during the stress of getting ready for the field) to write them small notes and get them to open them each week. I should say - all the creative credit for this goes to my wife!
