Indie game dev building a risk/reward discrete-mechanic, turn-based, mobile-first, multiplayer-first, cricket-based game. Gaming/Tech/Design/Dev(Flutter, etc.)
What are we building? It has elements of Hearthstone, Dungeon Faster, Championship Manager, Cricket Captain, Speedball 2 and Blood Bowl. I know - passé, right? Currently building a PoC in Flutter. Looking for any and all inspiration around games, mobile, multiplayer, and Flutter.
Happy Cinco de Mayo 2021 everyone!
To celebrate, I'll be giving the gift of the newly updated Cinco Paus to the first 25 people to DM me! (fifth day of the fifth month equals 25 😉)

Enjoy it with a refreshing beverage!

I shake my fist at you, holedown. I lost days to you first time around. Then I heard the @eggplantshow episode featuring your creator and I had to play again. I'm now searching for the bottom of a black hole, dammit. (Great game, well played).
So... does anyone need a dot matrix shader for their beautiful monochrome game to make it look more "portable"? I played around with the VSE in #GodotEngine and did this for a project, but it turned out so good (imo) that I want to share! Feel free to use it in your game. 1/2
@pux0r3 Nice combo. UX series is one of the few UMPCs I never tried! Cosmo is really sweet, but I don't use it as a primary phone, which maybe defeats the point? I'm going to try the Astro as my only device though, and will see how sensitive I am to others commenting on the bulk!
Q10: What elements of the game make the experience enjoyable? What elements may detract? A: the breakdown of a realtime sport into discrete tactics, the progression of the players and team. Detract? Maybe the uncanny valley of 'is this cricket, or not?' #100GameLenses#GameDesign
So much juicy stuff here! I could spend two days digging into all the topics on this list. Looking forward to looking at yeet Vs Navigator 2.0 for a start!
Q9: Is my game design using elements of all four types? A: Aesthetics: ideas, nothing set. Technology: yes, the remote multiplayer element will be key. Mechanics: massively, the mechanics are unique and central. Story: minimal, need to develop! #100GameLenses#GameDesign
I finished my 10-day binge of @adamconover's Humans Who Make Games podcast. Brilliant. "We want more! We want more!" Have now started @eggplantshow. Amazingly broad gaming topics given the Spelunky-specific genesis! Shouldn't be surprised given the all-star names involved though.
This is a such a huge milestone for me - I can't believe I've been featured on the front page of GamesIndustry .biz!
@WillNelson1998 did an incredible job on this, it's a fantastic article that perfectly articulates my thoughts on the UI design process.

Always wanted to ask @WadjetEyeGames about New York City, and finally did. Read the interview in the latest @wireframemag magazine, and then replay the Blackwell games and Unavowed.

I'm not sure I've ever bought a game on day of release. Ever. Ever before. Becuase I just have with Loop Hero. It has some really interesting-sounding elements around discrete game mechanics and risk/reward that I'm keen to dive into.
