Jamie Dimon nearly died on March 5, 2020.

He suffered an aortic dissection and needed emergency open-heart surgery. He knew a lot of people never even make it to the hospital, and many who do never leave the ER. In that moment he called his wife, told her company what was happening, and realized he had no major regrets.

Great kids. Great wife. Great company. He had done the best he could. Mistakes happened, but nothing that haunted him as life potentially ended.

He later said the prolonged pain of throat cancer and chemo years earlier was actually harder than the sudden heart event.
