In this incident, Kelly Jay Keen is standing directly in front of Zeeshan and others while they are attempting to pray peacefully, and is physically obstructing them from doing so. Based on her actions and statements in the incident, I believe this conduct is motivated by hostility towards Muslims and amounts to an anti-Muslim hate incident or hate crime.

As a Londoner, this is deeply concerning. I want to be able to practise my faith peacefully and quietly in public without fear of being physically obstructed or intimidated. Conduct like this sends the message that Muslims can be prevented from carrying out a peaceful act of worship simply because of their religion, and it risks encouraging or inciting others to behave in the same way.

I ask that this incident be investigated and considered in light of any relevant offences and the religiously aggravated nature of the conduct.
