EXCLUSIVE: Anthony Fauci quietly joined a stealth mRNA vaccine startup in 2023.
Then the Biden administration awarded it more than $28 million to develop vaccines for viruses with pandemic potential.
Now Eli Lilly is buying it for up to $1.55 billion.
This is the magnificent library @AnthropicAI amassed, before pulping it because it gave them a legal copyright loophole.

BREAKING: An upcoming "super" El Niño is expected to wipe out $3.1 trillion from the global economy.
The last time an El Niño this strong hit, in 1876-78, it triggered a global famine that killed more than 50 million people, including 9.5 million in China and 6.1 million in India.
Experts say the same death toll isn't likely to repeat today.
But the underlying weather pattern is the same one: drought across large parts of Asia, heavy destructive rains across South America, hitting harvests on two continents at once.
PIIE estimates the last comparable modern event, the 1997-98 Super El Niño, would cause $686 billion in immediate global losses if it repeated today.
Africa alone is projected to lose $10-20 billion this time, according to the African Development Bank, with maize prices expected to double as crops fail across the continent.
India, the world's largest rice exporter, is bracing for its weakest monsoon in over a decade, a monsoon that normally supplies 70% of the country's total rainfall.
When the world's biggest rice exporter grows less rice, rice gets more expensive everywhere, landing on a world where food and energy prices are already elevated from the ongoing war.

🦔AI companies are bulk-buying rare books, scanning them through high-speed machines that cut the spines off, and shredding the originals. A service called ISBNdb facilitates orders of up to a million books and keeps buyers anonymous. Pre-2022 books are premium because they're free of AI-generated text. A federal judge ruled the practice is fair use because eliminating the original means only one copy exists at a time. Anthropic hired the former head of Google Books partnerships to obtain "all the books in the world."
My Take
This got to me. A bookseller told 404 Media that rare books with almost no surviving copies are being fed into this pipeline. Books that survived wars, fires, and centuries of handling are being shredded so an AI can learn to write a better marketing email.
ISBNdb's website literally says "'AI company destroys two million books' is not a headline that generates sympathy," and they still built an entire business around making it happen quietly. They offer NDAs as a feature. They coach clients to call it "digital preservation."
I've covered AI companies scraping the internet, torrenting libraries, and stealing music. This is worse because it's irreversible. You can re-upload a website. You can reprint a bestseller. You can't replace the last three copies of an 18th-century botanical text once someone shreds them for training data. And the judge said it's legal. So it's going to accelerate.
"We shred rare books and offer NDAs so nobody finds out" is a legitimate business model in 2026. What a timeline.

Everyone's watching the SpaceX ticker. Almost nobody is asking where the copper comes from.
Every Starlink satellite needs copper. Every Falcon rocket needs nickel. The data centres powering the AI infrastructure that SpaceX investors are betting on require 30,000 to 40,000 tonnes of copper each. Over 100 are under construction right now.
The last major copper discovery took about 18 years to reach production. The supply simply isn't there to meet what's coming.
That gap is what I spend every day working on. Our Lion deposit in Quebec is returning copper grades more than 20 times the global average, with 95%+ metallurgical recoveries. The MRE is weeks away. PEA by year end.
The biggest IPO of the year runs on metals most of its investors have never thought about.
