AN OPEN LETTER TO YINKA ALASEYORI
Dear Yinka Alaseyori,
I have decided to write this letter to encourage you, and indeed every Nigerian who may not have your platform but still chooses to express their opinion without fear.
Over the last few days, I have watched the attacks directed at you by Children of Anger because of your comments on insecurity and prayer. Curious about the outrage, I listened to what you actually said.
Your message, as I understood it, was simple:
"We need prayer on security, and don't be deceived, prayer works. You cannot say the President is doing nothing, and you cannot say our military men are not doing anything. We don't even know if our Soldiers are very close to the abductors."
That was the substance of your message.
Now, what exactly is wrong with that opinion?
For decades, Nigerians of different faiths have organized prayers for peace and security. Christian groups pray. Muslim groups pray. Traditional institutions pray. The Christian Association of Nigeria prays. Islamic councils pray. Traditional rulers call for prayers. Nobody finds that strange.
So why is your call for prayer suddenly a problem?
The answer appears. Children of angry are not attacking you because you asked Nigerians to pray. They are angry because you acknowledged that the government and security agencies may be making efforts, even if those efforts are not always visible to the public.
We now live in a political climate where disagreement is treated as a crime. Once you refuse to repeat the approved talking points of a particular political crowd, you automatically become an enemy.
Sadly, this is not new.
At 84 years old, Pastor Adeboye is still being dragged regularly because he refuses to become the protest leader some people want him to be. Every election cycle, every national conversation, the same demands return. If he does not say exactly what they want, he becomes a target.
Yet Baba Adeboye has probably seen enough of life to know that public outrage is seasonal. Today they drag one person. Tomorrow they move to another. Their opinions have long lost their power over Baba Adeboye.
Yinka, in many ways, you are simply experiencing the same thing.
The unfortunate reality is that some people have surrendered independent thinking to mob thinking. Someone reasons for them. Someone decides who they should love and who they should hate. Anyone who expresses a different opinion immediately becomes the subject of insults, abuse, and coordinated attacks.
They spend so much time fighting everyone outside their political circle that they forget that fellow Nigerians are not enemies.
Nigeria belongs to all of us.
We can disagree politically without becoming hostile. We can support different candidates without losing our civility. We can hold different opinions without launching verbal attacks on one another.
So, Yinka Alaseyori, please do not be discouraged.
Continue praying.
Continue encouraging others to pray.
Continue using your platform to speak according to your convictions.
Many Nigerians may never trend on social media. Many may never have microphones or large audiences. Yet they pray daily for peace, security, and progress. Some of us are joining you in those prayers because we still believe that God answers prayers.
My prayer is that God will comfort families affected by insecurity, strengthen our security personnel, protect innocent citizens, and bring freedom to everyone currently in kidnappers' captivity.
May God bless every Nigerian who sincerely prays for this country.
And by God's mercy, may we all live to see the Nigeria of our dreams.
Yours sincerely,
Sma, ADEMISOYE

Some of the Images being shared as those of the kidnapped schoolkids of Oyo state were of maltreated kids in Mali
Pictures taken in Mali in June 2020, when a teacher flogged his young students, have been shared on social media to make people believe they are the pictures of the abducted Oyo students, an analysis by Africa54Research has revealed.
The distributors of the images are most probably terrorists' sympathisers, out to sow fears in our society and paint the government and the security forces black, as the government is making efforts to get the kids and their teachers released.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH: WHEN BROADCASTERS BECOME THE STORY
When television anchors abandon professionalism for provocation, it becomes the duty of the station’s management to call them to order. But when that failure becomes routine, the National Broadcasting Commission must step in. What can be excused from a citizen’s podcast but we can not and must not be tolerated from a licensed national broadcaster.
This madness must stop. @ARISEtv and its anchor, @ruffydfire, have crossed too many lines. They can not continue to constitute themselves into self-appointed prosecutors, judges, and enemies of the state under the guise of journalism. There is a difference between questioning power and attacking the very idea of order.
The supervising Ministry of Information must not remain a bystander while citizens invited in good faith are subjected to insult, rudeness, partisan aggression, and empty intellectual showmanship. The media must enlighten, not incite. It must inform, not inflame.
Let it be clear: freedom of expression is not freedom to abuse. Regulation is not repression it is the defence of sanity and national interest. The time has come to draw the line.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has walked into the job like a boss and tackled the problem from its roots (Subsidy removal).
He has stood tall amidst the challenges and taken full responsibility.
