I’m not sure the irony could get any sweeter. The institution responsible for keeping inflation under control has staff rejecting a 9.5% pay rise because they don’t believe it keeps pace with the cost of living.
Most people think resilience means never breaking. It does not. Resilience is how quickly you return to baseline after you break. Everyone falls. High performers just reset faster.
The Snapchat Specs obviously look ridiculous but its all good progress
In the 70s we were using bricks. In the 2000s we had indestructible Nokias. It wasn't until 2007 that the iPhone came out and the form factor took its current shape
This is all a beautiful part of iteration
Phenomenal read.
"human capital does not become less valuable as token capital grows. It only becomes more valuable! I believe human agency will be the driver of token capital growth. “Men who suffer not, attain no perfection. The plant most pruned by the gardeners is that one which, when the summer comes, will have the most beautiful blossoms and the most abundant fruit. The laborer cuts up the earth with his plough, and from that earth comes the rich and plentiful harvest. The same Lewis Hamilton who used a corporate leasing structure to save money on taxes (around £3.3 million in VAT) when acquiring his Bombardier Challenger 605 private jet in 2013? The same Lewis Hamilton who bought the £16.5 million jet through his British Virgin Islands company (Stealth Aviation Ltd) and who then set up an Isle of Man leasing company (Stealth (IOM) Ltd, to import it into the EU and sub-leased it to a UK jet management firm (TAG Aviation), which in turn provided it back to Hamilton and his Guernsey company under charter agreements? *That* Lewis Hamilton?
