To ensure timely availability of quality seedlings for the upcoming Kharif season, the women farmers of Maa Parbati Producer Group, Tikabali, under the APC Program, have undertaken a collective nursery raising initiative.
Through the establishment of community nursery beds and adoption of improved Package of Practices (PoP), the farmers are collectively producing healthy seedlings to support synchronized cultivation. With technical guidance from Harsha Trust, the initiative aims to ensure timely transplantation and harvesting of vegetables during periods of lower market supply, thereby creating better market opportunities.
This collective nursery approach is expected to improve seedling quality, reduce cultivation costs, enhance price realisation, increase profitability, and further strengthen collective action and collaboration among the women farmers.
