Please stop using teachers and kids for your political agenda. Both sides are guilty. This is going on year 3 of teaching during a pandemic and those of us who are still at it are because of the kids. We care. We are not the enemy. #teachers#maskornotmask#COVID19
@MrZachG I have my students raise their left hands if they are unsure of the answer & their right if they are sure. Then I choose from there. I often call on the unsure ones& by the end of the conversation they can raise their right. +if admin pop in looks like everyone is participating.
@SustainTeaching Agree. I just wish that was the expectation. Because according to the students I am "strict" because I have structure whereas that can do anything in the classroom over. However, if asked they say they actually learn something in my room.
@The_Deornwulf@MrDanielBuck Is this being sarcastic or real? I have always believed this. My students are more engaged and ask questions on this kind of learning.
@MattRKay Exactly. When my students finish and then ask what do we now? I sometimes tell them that we don't have to work every minute. It's okay to sit and breathe for a minute.
@MikePosner As a teacher, my purpose is to be a safe place for children. Especially teenagers. I have heard so much of pain and questions. My purpose is to provide an ear and support.
@ModestTeacher Yes! They use our schools as polling places. For the first time, they thought of student safety, and realized it would be hard to screen and monitor all the "visitors" in the building.
@MarcusLuther6 When my admin ask me why my kids get test scores higher than others.. what am I doing... how I am teaching it....I tell them that we read and talk about it. Write about it. Share about it. District curriculum is crap. They like my data, but they don't like how I get it.
@MrZachG I have a classroom w/ students that are behaving, engaged, learning,& I am full on teaching ;then you look around the building & see chaos & apathy. Students share w/ me in their other classes teachers yell at them. Kids are disrespectful. My class is their safe place. #culture
