@SawyerMerritt I don’t know if this is apples to apples, but I don’t know how hard dealers actually push EVs. I knew way more about Ford Lightning’s than the dealer I bought it from did. No wonder they weren’t selling them.
SCOTUS: “The 14th Amendment means even if you’re born to illegals if they give birth to you on American soil you’re an American!”
Jacob Howard Author of the 14th:
“This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens.”
Nobody believes that it’s a good idea, or makes any rational sense, to award citizenship to the babies of illegal immigrants. Nobody believes that the Founders ever intended any of this. This is one of those times where the debate is a facade. The other side doesn’t believe their own bullshit. They know this is ruinous for the country. That’s why they’re so elated. As for the Constitution, they couldn’t care less.
This was not a decision on procedural grounds (ie, POTUS can’t do this through executive order but Congress could legislate it); it is a substantive decision that says the 14th amendment requires citizenship for those born to, among others, birth tourists or those unlawfully present in the country.
Will need either a constitutional amendment or a future court to overrule this.
Anyway you slice it, the decision is a major defeat.
The idea that a pregnant woman from Guatemala can sprint across the US border, have the baby 30 minutes after arriving here, and the baby is magically a citizen of the US, is one of the most retarded and indefensible notions ever conceived
@ADRoblesMedia@SummrWrites Agree with AD on this one 1000%. Being from the South, the love I have for home and the people from here is immense. There’s a shared history that we have that I don’t have with any other people in the same way.
But that doesn’t nullify my love for those not from home.
Here are my final thoughts regarding Brian Sauvé, Ogden, the conference they had, and Nazis.
I believe Brian and Eric when they say they are not Nazis. I have a great fondness for @Eric_Conn . He used to be my boss years ago, and I really appreciate the music and much of what they have to say out at Ogden. I do not think they approve of the things that were on the flyer handed out at their conference.
I think there are a bunch of people just looking to trip them up, looking for anything they can accuse them of. There are always people on the left who are concerned that anything dealing with race, ethnicity, Jews, or related subjects just means you are a straight-up Nazi. So they are always looking to catch people, share half-clips, and so on. I do not side with any of them.
I do think Brian and Eric have exercised bad discernment at times. There are bad actors on the extremes who want to attach themselves to Ogden and others. There are grifters. There are also people who are not grifters, but are ideologues. They are publishing Nazi books, and not merely because they want to “recover history.” If anybody has a problem with people reading historical works, that is not the issue. The issue is that they are promoting something by publishing these historical books. They are promoting an ideology that puts race over faith and religion, excuses and even promotes evil as long as it fits their agenda, and wants to attach itself to conservative Christians and right-wing Christians. They are serpents who slither in.
It has always been true that people will try to worm in and sneak in. Scripture warns us about this. They won't just worm into political movements but right into the church. They hijack the mission of the Church and make it subordinate to whatever thing they think benefits them best.
This is where, if we are only concerned about left versus right, only concerned about tribes, and only concerned about fighting off the false accusations of the left, then we do a disservice to the truth and harm those who follow us.
The problem at their conference was not just that a pamphlet was handed out that they opposed. The problem was that they allowed a group there to set up a booth with an alternative agenda. I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt that they didn't know everything about Antelope Hill. But they have to develop better discernment.
The left is always going to call us racist, sexist, homophobe, Nazi, tyrant, and you name it. We can mock and laugh at their accusations, but man, its stupid if we are giving them any ammunition for it. The real thing is that Ogden needs to be wiser about who they connect with and be willing to discipline their followers. Be willing to take the serrated edge to Nazis as well as you do to commies. Take the sword to Nick Fuentes just as you do Russel Moore.
Brian Sauvé blocked me on Facebook for bringing up some of these concerns. I responded to that with a pretty sarcastic remark and shared a screenshot of it. I took it down because I do not want to contribute to all these turf wars. My aim is not their destruction but the good of the church.
I have been accused of being a racist, sexist, bigot, Nazi, homophobe, and also a race traitor, liberal, and schoolmarm. I do not care about the whole of it. It is funny to me.
So do not count me among the people constantly looking to tear down Ogden. I am not among the woke left or the Nazi hunters. But I am also not in agreement with those who want to make race everything. Furthermore, I don't support what NETTR has become. If every criticism of those close to you is considered an attack, I think we have to grow thicker skin. Of course, I don't think we should slander anyone.
Listen, I do not give a hoot if you want to go back and rethink how to best understand World War II. I do not think we should create this super comic-book-villain version of Hitler. I do not think that does anyone any good, because evil is rarely that way. But I also do not think we should create this comic-book version of Hitler where he was a Christian prince.
We can acknowledge the history and learn from it. I have Mein Kampf. I've read much of the source material. Reading history is not a bad thing. But we should learn from it. And the greatest lesson to learn is that Jesus is King and in God's providence everyone who sets himself up in the King's place will get knocked down.
At the end of the day, what should be our priority is the good name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the peace and purity of His church, the truth of His word, and standing firmly there. We must not allow the gospel to be hijacked by woke Bolsheviks, communists, Zionists, Nazis, race supremacists, race hustlers, tyrants, bitter feminists, bitter women haters, Jewish myths or gentile myths.
And no, this is not Tim Keller’s third-wayism. It is not a little bit of both. There are a whole lot more ditches than just these two that you can fall into. But the truth is the narrow way, and we should stay on that path.
And notice I am speaking in the Church. In the political realm, there are areas of wisdom and prudence when it comes to allies and cobelligerents. But we also must guard that the political doesn't swallow up the spiritual.
Lastly, at the end of the day, I want to see a return to normalcy. Normal Christian views that Christians have held for thousands of years. That Christ is Supreme. His word is true. Piety is good. We long for heaven while living faithful on earth.
