@MHNidas Yeah, this isn't a thing in DS2. The game offers an extra shard so that you don't have to find all of them to max out your flask. Elden Ring does the same thing with Golden Seeds.
I will say, though, that it's unfortunate that the images I've seen so far indicate that the box has a digital key card and not an actual cartridge. Switch games are the only physical games I've been collecting and I was interested in getting this, so...
It's a Switch port that has the DLC already in it and a few extras.
There's a lot of people saying that it needs to be more than that, which is nice to think about but an unfounded assumption nonetheless. Don't let others lead you into believing things that aren't confirmed true

We all clamor and clap like seals for the same five Japanese VAs when we go with subbed anime and video games, and no one would seriously complain about that as vehemently as one expects to see of English dubbing.
Truly the duality of sub purity. The anime dub industry is both lacking in talented big name VAs and only comprised of the same five big name VAs depending on which annoying person you have the misfortune of arguing with.
One reason we have so many issues with today's English dubs is that so many of the best dub actors graduated to video games, were there's more money to be made, and not enough talent of equal merit came in to replace them.
JYB used to be all over anime, delivering kino performances one after another. Nowadays he's just doing legacy roles.
And with the state of the industry today, who can blame him?
P3 Reload is a very good illustration of what people might consider a new guard vs. old guard situation, with the cast being replaced with new blood and some of the original VAs from FES taking on various NPC roles in the remake. And all of them still do anime dubbing.
I've always told people in Texas that California's progressive reputation is undeserved. Its liberal politicians are expert at paying lip service to identity issues, but its a state ruthlessly run, top-to-bottom, by real estate, tech, and finance capital
@KitexKite I also don't really like the insinuation that chiptune is an inferior medium of songwriting just because you don't like how the audio is balanced.
@paprikastaude@latzephr Absolutely. The appeal of both Mina and Shovel Knight is that, for people who played these kinds of games, it's how they *remember* them being rather than what they actually were.
Did you know? If you get a dogshit levelup in Fire Emblem it's actually because of your personal moral failings as a human being. All nintendo consoles have a miniature reproduction of anubis's scale and if your spirit is deemed impure all you're getting is hp and skill
@Invinium Isn't this just a differently-worded way to gatekeep? DS2 is more than just the gameplay mechanics. A lot of its charm and appeal end up by the wayside because players are preoccupied with fighting against the controls. I don't see a problem with having the option to change that.
@CEOofRonova It's valid to feel misled, but those feelings were sustained by rampant speculation and misguided expectations.
I don't feel much sympathy for people who got so easily carried away by that and choose to blame the company rather than themselves.
@The_Weeb_Crew This is because western cartoons and anime have different expectations. Trying to do the cadence of Lion King in anime would fall flat because it doesn't commit to the same level of exaggerated acting that an anime dub needs.
