Forgiveness means “I no longer carry the weight of seeking revenge.”
BUT, I can forgive and still
report a crime
seek justice
seek restitution
seek restoration
lament the devastation
tell the story of hurt & healing
avoid a dangerous person
There's a lot I'd like to write to honor my friend.
I knew Coach ever since since Mrs Raff was my 1st grade teacher. He meant a lot to me and to a lot of people over the years... showing many of us a combination of love, kindness, fun, and pursuing excellence.
A column I never wanted to write, but one I'm honored to write.
A tribute to a great track coach & a greater man. RIP John Raffensperger, 1940-2019.

I'm very honored the hometown paper used this old photo of him and me for their article... it exemplifies who he was as a friend and coach.
Grateful, the day after Easter to have the hope of what the resurrection of Jesus really means, as the Apostle Paul wrote:
“Death is swallowed up in victory. O death where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? …but thanks be to God who gives us the victory through Christ Jesus our Lord!"
Thank you for a great weekend at the @ValuedConf! To everyone who attended and watched, we are grateful to have learned from you, are excited to walk alongside you, and look forward—with hope—to a Church free from abuse.
