On my personal behalf and on behalf of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, I sincerely thank President Trump for graciously accepting our request to extend the ceasefire to allow ongoing diplomatic efforts to take their course.

With the trust and confidence reposed in, Pakistan shall continue its earnest efforts for negotiated settlement of conflict.

I sincerely hope that both sides will continue to observe the ceasefire and be able to conclude a comprehensive ‘Peace Deal’ during the second round of talks scheduled at Islamabad for a permanent end to the conflict.

آج مورخہ 19 اپریل بروز اتوار تقریباً 10:45 منٹ پر جہلم اکیڈمی پر دو حملہ آوروں کی طرف سے شدید فائرنگ کی گئی حملہ آور نے روڈ کے دوسری طرف گرین بیلٹ پر لیٹ کر اکیڈمی کے فرنٹ گیٹ اور پولیس پر فائرنگ کی جس میں پولیس کا جوان بہادری سے حملہ جواب دیتے ہوئے گولی لگنے سے زخمی ہو گیا جسے ہسپتال منتقل کر دیا گیا ہے ، اکیڈمی کے گیٹ پر بھی فائر لگے چونکہ پولیس موقع پر موجود تھی پولیس نے فوری رسپانس کرتے حملہ آوروں کے منصوبہ کو ناکام بنا دیا جوابی کارروائی سے حملہ آور گولی لگنے سے موقع پر مارا گیا

As the Islamabad Talks commenced today, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with His Excellency JD Vance, Vice President of the United States of America.

The U.S. Vice President was assisted by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Mr. Jared Kushner.

The Prime Minister was assisted by Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Sen. Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Sen. Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi.

Commending the commitment of both delegations to engage constructively, the Prime Minister expressed the hope that these talks would serve as a stepping stone toward durable peace in the region.

The Prime Minister reiterated that Pakistan looks forward to continue its facilitation of both sides in making progress towards sustainable peace in the region.

The Iranian side was led by the Honorable Speaker of the Iranian Consultative Assembly, Mr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, assisted by Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Abbas Araghchi.

Appreciating Iran’s engagement in the Islamabad Talks, the Prime Minister affirmed Pakistan’s sincere resolve to continue playing its role as a mediator to help build momentum towards achieving meaningful results in the interest of regional and global peace and stability.
