East Carolina’s Gavin Van Kempen is the Dodgers’ next pick
6’6/215, ultra high 7’1 launch, up to 95. FB north of 20” iVB. No glove-side offerings, Trey Yesavage-esque. Cutter, death ball, and changeup off the steep release. Senior sign, missed with injury
Ryan Zeferjahn since June 1st:
16 IP
0.52 ERA
2.37 FIP
1 SV / 2 HLD
41.5% K%
20% BB%
.078 BAA
Zeferjahn has been effectively wild throughout 2026:
- FF velo up 2.2 MPH ✅
- Whiff% up to 33% (+3%) ✅
He gets tons of whiffs, but no chases at all (22.7%, 1st percentile)
Seriously? This is so soft. If you can’t swing it with a -3 as a high school aged kid I don’t know what to tell you besides the weight room is a good spot
We’re in full-on dude watch with Christian Zazueta.
Metrically nuts fastball with a huge whiff rate so far this year. He’s hardly walking anybody and punching out 35.9% of batters faced. Any further development of his bendy and offspeed stuff and we’re talking top 50 in baseball
A hitter’s stat line is just as dependent on their environment as their skill.
The three most important underlying metrics that travel:
1️⃣ Chase rate (stabilizes fast, hard to fake, hard to fix) 2️⃣Pull-side power (intentional damage is repeatable damage) 3️⃣ Whiff rate
Christian Zazueta is the most underrated pitching prospect in MiLB. His fastball is one of the best pitches in the minors and he has done an exceptional job at limiting walks this season
He is currently my #56 Prospect in MLB, and that might be selling him short!
Julio Solier is a very exciting player for @BCBirdBall, but he's not know for his power ... But he just hit a 95 mph Ben Blair fastball 425 feet for a solo homer to center, 106 mph off the bat. 2nd HR of the year for the BC shortstop, cuts Liberty's lead to 2-1, M5.
Charles McAdoo is a 3B/1B prospect who has also played a bit of 2B. He was more of a power hitter in the past who struggled with high fastballs but has transformed himself in the last year to hit for a lot more contact.
His TJStats card from AAA:
The Toronto Blue Jays are calling up infield prospect Charles McAdoo, a source tells ESPN. A 13th-round pick in 2023, McAdoo has played first, second and third base this season, when he has hit .250/.356/.436 with eight home runs and 27 RBIs at Triple-A.
Joseph Dzierwa (BAL) continues to solidify himself as one of the best pitching prospects in MLB
The Orioles 2025 2nd round pick made his AA debut yesterday, firing off 5.1 IP with 10 K and 0 BB. His season total now sits at 2.54 ERA & 1.90 FIP in 46.0 IP
