It is intellectually dishonest to blame BBN, Peller, Carter Efe, and the rest for this Olodo Uprising. The truth is that Nigeria's rulers, both temporal and spiritual. are the real enablers of the weaponized ignorance that has given rise to this mass stupefaction.

They did not create the problem, but they have certainly benefited from it.

Two brothers were arguing.

I just smiled.

In that moment, I realized how often people of different faiths make the same exclusive claim, each convinced they alone possess the absolute truth.

Meanwhile, kindness, compassion, honesty, and the good we do for one another often become secondary to the religious label we wear.

Perhaps humanity would be better served if we spent less time deciding who deserves eternal punishment and more time making this world a better place for the people who are already here.

Before you claim the title of "self-made," I ask you: who are you?
I ask because, until you understand who you are, you cannot truly answer whether you are self-made or not.

Your story did not begin with your first paycheck, your first business, your degree, your house, or the wealth you have accumulated. Your story began the day a man and a woman came together and brought you into existence. A woman carried you for nine months, nourished you with her body, endured pain to bring you into this world, and cared for you when you could do nothing for yourself.
You were then raised by countless hands. Parents, relatives, teachers, friends, mentors, farmers who grew your food, workers who built the roads you travel on, and strangers whose names you will never know all contributed in some way to the person you are today.

And before them stood generations of ancestors. Men and women who struggled, scrificed, survived wars, diseases, poverty, and hardships so that life could continue long enough for your parents to meet and for you to be born. Their stories, choices, and sacrifices are woven into your existence.

So when people say they are "self-made," what they are often referring to is their achievements, possessions, or material success. They are talking about what they have acquired, not who they are.
Yes, you may have worked hard. Yes, you may have shown discipline, courage, and determination. Your achievements are yours to be proud of. But the foundation upon which those achievements stand was not built by you alone.

The language of being "self-made" is often the language of the ego. The language of gratitude recognizes that none of us arrived here by ourselves.
You may have built your success, but you did not build yourself.
You are the product of countless lives, countless sacrifices, countless opportunities, and countless acts of kindness.many of which you will never know.

So before you call yourself self-made, take a moment to remember all the people, known and unknown, living and dead, whose shoulders you stand upon.
That realization does not diminish your achievements; it gives them context. And in that context, humility becomes not a weakness, but wisdom

I recently had a conversation with a friend of mine who is a Christian. In the course of our discussion, he asked me if I believe in prayer or if I think prayer works. I told him that I don’t pray myself, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with praying. He was shocked; he was expecting me to say that I don’t believe in prayer at all. But I explained that, for me, prayer isn’t about magically changing external circumstances. Rather, it can be a practice that helps people stay motivated and focused.

When people pray, it can give them a sense of clarity, purpose, and positive energy to pursue their life goals. I also acknowledged that while it can be strengthening, focus and action can also come from within. So, prayer can be a powerful tool, but it isn’t the only thing that drives success or change in one’s life. Ultimately, the most important thing is to stay locked in.
