Clarification Regarding False Information Circulating on Social Media

False information is being circulated on social media under the caption "Coimbatore College Student Raped – Son of a Political Party Functionary Involved."
It is clarified that upon receipt of complaint lodged by the college student within the limits of Madukkarai Police Station, a case was immediately registered for offences including assault, criminal trespass, damage to property, theft, and criminal intimidation. During the investigation, three accused were arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
Efforts are continuing to apprehend the remaining accused.
It is further clarified that the persons involved in this case are not affiliated with any political party. The claims linking the accused to a political party are false and baseless.
The public is requested not to believe or share such rumours or unverified information on social media. Strict legal action will be taken against those who create or circulate false and misleading information with the intention of causing public alarm .
