All about a successful relegation battle apparently. We have been wasting our time trying to win trophies. 17th place is where itโs at.

โWhen you win a trophy, or when you win a league, yes itโs a very nice moment but when you stay up, itโs BETTER!โ

Iโve never spoken about this publicly, so bear with me.
But I want to articulate why this Premier League win for Arsenal isnโt โjust footballโ.
In July 2025, my son was born with a rare condition called CDH. Itโs a hernia that forms in the diaphragm, which means that the major organs develop in the chest cavity.
This puts extreme pressure on the development of the lungs.
We were told throughout the pregnancy that he had a 30-40% chance of survival.
We had to wait until my partner gave birth to see whether he would make it or not.
He had life saving surgery on day 5 of his life - and we endured a 2 month stay in a hospital in London.
At times we were told that he might not make it through the night - but by the grace of god, and throughout a rollercoaster of ups and downs he survived the intensive care process.
During that time was the start of the Premier League season - and the one escape that I had was Arsenal football club.
We had been at hospital for a month, and hadnโt left the hospital grounds. We were there 24/7.
I felt so guilty leaving him, but made the choice to find a local pub and watch Arsenalโs season opening game against Man United. And for that 90 minutes, I was able to escape the pain and sadness.
Watching Arsenal become the one thing that helped me escape, even for just 90 minutes over the course of those few months.
We needed a name for my boy. Something to signify strength, courage and being brave hearted. We chose Leo.
He was born on the 19th July.
Leandro (Leo - number 19) Trossardโs goal against West Ham. That historic goal. Will forever live in a lot of peopleโs memories forever. For me, it felt like destiny.
Leo is now thriving. And in his first season as an Arsenal fan, heโs been spoilt.
Football means so much to all of us. This football club means so much to us. Itโs more than just a game.
It shapes peopleโs lives, their character. Itโs hope, itโs escape, itโs proof that hard work pays off.
Whatever your reason is for loving this club and loving football - enjoy every single second of this joy.
This one is for you, son.

We might be going down, and we might be shit, but at least we wonโt be remembered for the worst ever team to win the league.
How embarrassing. Beating Burnley from a corner at home
Pep is leaving City at the end of this season. I expect, in the main, the tributes to be amazing, with NO mentions of his doping past (https://t.co/R36WZh41zM) and few mentions of Man City's long-established non-compliance with football financial rules that allowed such ยฃ spend.
Everyone at Arsenal is shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic passing of former goalkeeper, Alex Manninger.
All our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this incredibly sad time.
Rest in peace, Alex โค๏ธ
Awful news that Alex Manninger has passed away after a car accident. Played such a key role in the 1998 double, stepping up when the team needed him with David Seaman out.
Tragic news.
Two things bother me about the narrative building around Arsenal.
First, we're told constantly that the Premier League is the most competitive league in the world. Fine. So what does it mean to be consistently fighting for the title in that environment? You can't celebrate the league's brutal competitiveness and then dismiss sustained title challenges as not good enough. Pick one.
Second, and IMO this matters more, failure in elite sport is not losing. Luis Enrique said it. Many others have said versions of it. Failure is not trying again. It's accepting the ceiling. It's going through the motions. Arteta has never done that. Every setback has been fuel for the next attempt.
The problem is social media runs on binary outcomes. Win or fail. Hero or fraud. No room for nuance. No room for the manager who rebuilt a club into genuine title contenders and is still hungry for more.
Simeone has been at Atlรฉtico for over a decade. Two league titles, two Champions League finals. Still no European Cup. Nobody serious calls that failure. They call it one of the great managerial tenures in modern football. And I'm convinced that given 14 years like Simeone, Mikel will win more leagues than him.
Arteta may or may not win the league this year. He may not lift the Champions League this year or next. But as long as he keeps pushing, keeps trying, keeps competing at this level, failure isn't what this is.
Find another name for it
By the way, if City wins the league, the achievement would of course be enormous.
