Tweeting from my personal account about an email I received from a very well-spoken woman from Malawi. She is raising funds to complete her degree at Harvard in bioethics, after her sponsor abruptly pulled funding. Support and share if you are able! https://t.co/gFm8qgcv4J
Just updated and expanded: our massive database of postdoctoral fellowships. These are all fellowships NOT attached to any specific university.
We include description, $ amount, deadline, field, and eligibility criteria.

Heyo! Our paper on #ancientDNA & African foragers made @NSF’s top 10 most read research news stories of 2022! Such a privilege to be able to share those findings with the world 🎉🥂https://t.co/2C8PLyzP0P
@mdhunstiger @DrPardi Yes, agree. It's not necessarily that they can last longer/are more durable by nature, but rather that people will make use of them for longer because they have invested more effort in creating them in the first place.
@LarryLuhanga @MozyBeatz@Santaah92@YalePaleoarch It's a model, because the originals are stored in a place where they can be kept safe from people touching them, UV damage from sunlight, dust, and strain of being mounted. And yes - to find and recover more specimens, Malawi needs to train and employ more paleontologists!
@julien_rs You're right to emphasize Neanderthal KIDS in snowball fights! Neanderthal parents, like any reasonable energy-conserving mammal in winter (read: me), would have sat by the fire chewing bear fat and saying, "Yeah, yeah, the snow's not going anywhere, I'll do that with you later".
My kid is into big, flashy minerals. Can anyone advise where I can find an awe-inspiring one at a decent price that I can give him as a gift? Can I secretly grow these things in my basement to huge proportions over the coming month? Pls retweet, I need help!
What is bothering me today? Kids can't just go ring each other's doorbells and spontaneously play together! Parents have to be intimately involved in scheduling and executing playdates. People say "We should get them together!" but never do. Or is this a WEIRD-specific thing?
I seriously need to get my kid's hearing checked. I say "pick up the granola bar wrappers" and he hears "go downstairs and turn on video games". Those phrases don't even share phonemes, so I'm afraid it must be a serious problem 🤔
In incredible company on @BBCScienceNews in Action episode. I'm at the end with thoughts on why dependent support and care matters for doing the most inclusive field science 🔭🪨⛏️🦎🏔️. Retweet and take the survey! @suzie_birch https://t.co/RcRgGeA7To

Do you bring your kids with you for fieldwork? Have you been on a field project where someone has? Short Q&A about this that we hope will continue this conversation.
