Located in Hisar (Haryana), Rakhigarhi is the largest known archaeological site of the Indus-Saraswati Civilisation, spanning approximately 550 hectares, significantly larger than both Harappa and Mohenjo-daro.

Major excavations at the site have revealed advanced urban planning, sophisticated craftsmanship, a large lapidary workshop, drainage systems, wells, and a substantial cemetery.

Many scholars believe it may have served as a major provincial capital or an important regional center of the Indus-Saraswati Civilisation.

These discoveries firmly establish that the heart and largest expanse of the Indus-Saraswati Civilisation thrived across a vast area of Bharat.

Ongoing research and preservation efforts at Rakhigarhi continue to provide deeper insights into this ancient civilisation and its profound roots in Indian history.

Vice-President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan attended the Parakram Diwas celebrations at the Victoria Memorial, Kolkata, commemorating the 129th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

He said that Parakram Diwas is not merely a tribute, but a transmission of courage across generations. Recalling Netaji’s life, the Vice-President noted that his choice of honour over comfort and freedom over fear continues to inspire the youth to work towards a Viksit Bharat.

150 years of Vande Mataram, a song that did not merely echo but awakened the spirit of a nation. 🇮🇳 From Kolkata to Darjeeling, the NCC West Bengal & Sikkim Directorate celebrated this timeless anthem through grand cultural events, uniting 30,000 cadets in a powerful chorus of pride and patriotism. The ADG of West Bengal & Sikkim Directorate witnessed an inspiring Vande Mataram recitation by spirited cadets at the NCC Training Institute, Kalyani. At CATC Kolkata, 17 Bengal Bn NCC under Kolkata-B reignited the same fervour, celebrating this anthem with passion and purpose.

At the NCC Training Institute, Kolkata, cadets of 2 Bengal Girls Bn NCC displayed their vibrant patriotism through poster making, quiz, singing of Vande Mataram, and interactive sessions on its historical journey. The Ministry of Culture and Indian Museum, Kolkata, in collaboration with 2 Bengal Bn NCC and Surendranath College, paid a heartfelt tribute to this sesquicentennial milestone. Meanwhile, 7 Bengal Girls Bn, Coochbehar under Darjeeling Gp, echoed devotion at the historic Coochbehar Rajbari, where cadets, ANOs, JCO, and PI staff united their voices for a stronger, more united India.

Moments of deep pride resonated across the region, from Dariyapur, Contai, where 46 Bengal Bn under Kharagpur Group honoured the legacy of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay at his memorial, to Bolpur, where 50 Bengal Bn under Burdwan Group organised a cultural event at Bolpur High School. Together, these celebrations embodied the enduring power of Vande Mataram, reminding every cadet that the anthem of unity, courage, and freedom still beats in the heart of 140 crore Indians.
