AI was an aspiration, a prophecy, and something of a technical inevitability long before it became a reality. It could vividly be seen in the mind's eye before it manifested itself for physical eyes. Proof of this is all over literature going back all the way to the nineteenth century -- perhaps earlier. And now, here it is. It was conjured and it showed up.

Sometimes I wonder if "aliens" are the same. Entities between dreams and things, like technologies envisioned but not realized, still attracting and gathering form.
