You’re absolutely right - the UK should follow Canada’s example on indexation. Once a pensioner becomes entitled to a Cdn pension, their benefits are indexed no matter where that pensioner decides to retire. British indexation is selective/discriminatory, and that’s bad policy.

We know some frozen pensioners receive as little as £17.35 a week. Many likely get even less than this.

Similarly when you go to the Fortis home energy calculator and compare a heat pump with a condensing gas furnace, Fortis selects a lower efficiency heat pump that would not typically be chosen to heat a home year round (often called cold climate). It makes gas look like the lower operating cost system. Which is not correct.
