The greatest answers to atheism are not the great philosophical defenses for God (ontological, teleological, cosmological arguments) though these, to my mind, are powerful and ultimately irrefutable. But emotionally, for atheists, the problem of evil (generally) and their own pain (specifically) often overwhelms these more cerebral defenses for God.

The greatest answers to atheism are music, beauty, and romance.

These are immediate, personal, universal, and undeniable reflections of the divine in this dark and merciless world.
