A note in advance of today's #Jeopardy! fun and games: with all respect to those who live with their parents, the joke behind "stay-at-home daughter" lies in the fact my mother is presently living with *me* and my seasonal work means I'm home a lot. Made Mom smile. Thx @Jeopardy!
@ValentinaForUSA@BarackObama We do accurately count EVERY AMERICAN VOTE. In some states absentee ballots can't be opened and be counted until after they count all the election day votes. That takes time because they not only have to open all those ballots they have to verify them before they can be counted.
Also remember: when we hear "👀 More people voted in _____ than were registered," it's inevitably in one of the states where you can register the same day. The person stirring up suspicion compares the vote totals to the *previous* day's registration.
It took several days to count every ballot in 2020, and it’s very likely we won’t know the outcome tonight either. So please keep a few things in mind as you make your voice heard today:
– Thousands of election workers around the country are working hard today. Respect them. Thank them.
– Don’t share things before checking your sources.
– Let the process run its course. It takes time to count every ballot.
@Lebanexican Followed back, fellow 🥉. Love the Sana Sana colita de 🐸! Can relate both to the feeling and to how comforting that phrase always is. Didn't grow up with it, but as an adult have used it gobs.
@Travis_4_Trump It's worth noting: several searches turn up no statement of this kind AT ALL. Only places I see anything where he mentions Civil War are things like articles quoting various Democrats who say they WILL certify the result even if Trump wins, including if he's ineligible per 14A.
@acnewsitics Peters committed election crimes to prove others committed election crimes only to learn there were no election crimes other than the crimes she committed.
Think this is my favorite in this thread from a parody account. (Backstory: the account created a parody tweet sent out in advance of the debate, critiquing the moderators as unfair to Vance and insisting Vance won... before the debate even took place.)
It’s strange now how I’m suddenly the bad guy for posting my debate response a bit early. I’ve been scheduling my Tweets about the White Sox losing all season at least this far ahead of the ballgames and nobody ever complained
"Do you remember when you joined X? I do!" Like fun I do — only reason I have any notion it's been that long is that Twitter reminded me. This account lay dormant for years after I created it bc I didn't want to mix it up w/my main acct... then came #Jeopardy! #MyXAnniversary
@arthurchufilm Yogesh unquestionably has been one of the targets of that tendency, as well as its critic, which sounds like it may have led him to include as an instigator one who merely reported on it.
Context: my thoughts as a fan & White non-Hispanic cishet woman of half-Ashkenazic descent
I think this quote 👇 from a peer of color, Anotado, shows what's sad here. Yogesh is not wrong, I think, that there's a lot of unacknowledged racism in how much of the white fanbase & trivia community responds to prominent players of color. & NO ONE SHOULD DOXX ANYONE, EVER. /1
@arthurchufilm It all highlights an unfortunate social-media era fandom trend, in which cranky fans sometimes are perennially ragging on a current player who is POC, female, &/or LGBTQ+ as too chatty, too taciturn, too smiley, too frowny, all w/o examining why they🔬 us differently from peers.
