If you’re tweeting about Ed Sheeran and Macklemore please also consider spreading my fundraiser that helps feed families in Palestine. We are at 98% and I’d love it if we could direct some of this energy to meeting and exceeding the goal. https://t.co/wkS36hfQPZ
All the acts that dropped out (except maybe Finneas) are not rich. As a matter of fact they probably made more money touring with Ed than they have ever made in their lives. That didn't stop them from doing the right thing. @edsheeran is worth half a billion and a coward
It's hard not to be utterly enraged by this.
They stood by while Israel slaughtered more than 20,000 innocent Palestinian children.
They did more than stand by. They were a part of it. They supported the genocide materially and diplomatically, defending it at every step.
They, like all of us, saw constant footage of kids blown to pieces, decapitated, shot in the head.
They saw Hind Rajab, killed in a merciless barrage of Israeli bullets.
They saw Reem Nabhan, "soul of my soul" to her smitten grandfather Khaled.
They saw five-year-old Saly Abu Maamar, her tiny body wrapped in a shroud and cradled by her aunt.
They saw 17-day-old al-Amira Aisham, known to her already devoted family as "Princess Aisha".
They saw Nour Abu al-Qumssan, who lay dead under the rubble as her desperate father Abu al-Qumssan called out her name over and over again.
And it didn't stop them.
The gall. The utter gall.
Very telling that one of these artists chose to post their statement with the comments on, while the other turned them off to continue evading accountability. Very easy to tell whose conscience is clear here.
Btw, @edsheeran, you’re not only complicit, but you’re a coward.
“No one is free until Palestine is free” is such a true statement. Think about it. We can’t even publicly support Palestine without some sort of penalty. That’s proof enough how we are NOT free
Comments off on his statement tells you everything you need to know
Ed Sheeran saying he wants to give people "safety and sanctuary" when there's literally people in Palestine who lost that and who may never see that again. Bro has never felt an ounce of empathy. Anyways, Free Palestine
The Ed Sheeran thing reminds me of when Chris Martin was like
"I can see Palestine flags and Israeli flags. That's what it's about - people coming together"
Just fuck off, the both of you
Ed Sheeran pulling the "my audience includes children" bullshit. You know what other population includes children Ed? The population being slaughtered by Israel.
Ed Sheeran said “I am not complicit. I have my personal views on this devastating conflict. Just because I choose not to speak publicly, it doesn't mean I don't have them, and it doesn't mean I don't care.” But guess what? THAT MAKES YOU COMPLICIT. Choosing to stay quiet it WORSE
