An important sub-claim I will discuss in my essay is the concept of “difference versus disorder”. People voluntarily engage in the service of accent modification which means that a speech pathologist will not approach this as remediation of a disorder. #RHUB305

In Lamar’s letter to President Obama, he addresses his concerns for police misconduct within the Deaf community. In regards to letter writing, he is effective in addressing his apprehension by sharing a personal anecdote that will appeal to the President’s emotions. #RHUB305
