I remembered learning about her on student culture day at school. My Indonesian classmate did a presentation on her and how she was the first woman in recorded history to hold the official rank of admiral.
She kept both Portuguese and Dutch colonisers away for years and it could be argued that her leadership became part of why Aceh resisted colonisation longer than almost any other part of Indonesia.
🚨 INCREDIBLE: Cows airlifted from Blatten, Switzerland, as a massive landslide threatens the Alpine village!
😱 Over 300 residents & livestock, including 26 cows, 190 sheep, & 20 rabbits, were evacuated since Saturday due to unstable rocks & glacier near Bietschhorn. One injured cow, “Loni,” was helicoptered to safety on May 20.

Since Studio Ghibli is trending, worth noting the mind-boggling effort Hayao Miyazaki and his team put into a film.
Each has 60k-70k frames, all hand-drawn and painted with water color.
This 4-second clip (“The Wind Rises”) took one animator 15 months to do.
In the documentary “10 Years with Hayao Miyazaki”, the legendary Japanese filmmaker talks to one of his animators (Eiji Yamamori) after they complete the crowd scene.
The exchange is gold:
▫️Miyazaki: “Good job.”
▫️Yamamori: “It’s so short, though”
▫️Miyazaki: “But it was worth it.”
The animator gets a second of joy (he’s pumped) but on to the next.
