Zoom Medical Education: The University of Juba’s 4th year students having Medical Microbiology Lectures delivered by our International Faculty led by Dr Hugh Grant in the UK, Oxford University, London School of Tropical Medicine, and Australian Institutions
I am not a Bari, my village is 5 hours from Juba, I don't own land in Juba until now,I rent. This idea that one is entitled to land in the capital city is ludicrous.
Unless it is your village, land is not a birth right. Even in villages, land is allocated based on family ties
THE UNIMAGINABLE
South Sudan’s Healthcare is unable to care for the living and the dead. Military Hospital’s mortuary is now out of function. Bodies of deceased are sent to UNMISS. It’s time we send management and finance professionals to fix our dying healthcare system. Weep.
This region, call it East Africa, Horn of Africa, East-Central Africa, is a truly post-colonial political, military and developmental disappointment all around! War crimes in Ethiopia’s war, Sudan’s military power grab, South Sudan looters playing rulers, Uganda, Kenya, DRC, sham
SIGNS OF AN EMERGING MARKET ECONOMY:Money ceases from growing on trees. Planning becomes as crucial as finance. Job of finance and planning ministry gets harder and complex. Rent seekers go bankrupt. A new world of daredevil entrepreneurs emeges. Prosperity returns. We can’t wait
@MawutReech That's quite a twist to the Mabior-Kiir saga. I hope we get an interview out of him when he's out of Juba again to enlighten us on the sudden change of heart. I think his beef with Kiir is deeper, more personal than mere political disagreements & those don't get squashed easily.
@HatimAlTai2 Umm, didn't you know that locals can't be experts on events happening in their localities? It's pretty much standard practice in western media establishments.
The neurotransmitter #GABA protects neurons through multiple synergistic pathways that depend on distinct #Gproteins, according to a new study in @scisignal. https://t.co/UuFg1xhEyk
@JohnAkec In fairness to them, without a reliable, inflation-adjusted payroll system in place at their institutions, people have no reason to slave away at their Jobs. They'll naturally gravitate to where the money is -- top leadership positions where the money is divided.
@CrisisGroup@alanboswell ....Not to mention the fact that they are borrowing money just to pay salaries, including the salaries of the very people squandering this resource.
Seriously, why are we not rioting like our northern neighbor? We are clearly getting screwed a lot harder than they are
@CrisisGroup@alanboswell Those graphics were just depressing to see. The level of incompetence and outright corruption in that govt is mind-blowing. Seriously, how can people be so bad at managing such a vital resource (>95% govt revenue) and still keep their jobs?
