While marginal and catalytic actions are necessary, they're not sufficient to contain the climate change monster. We need overhauls and fundamental changes in our food systems, energy systems, industrial Processes and consumption patterns for scale results.
I think climate activists on the tv and radio need to spit it out much more in real clear and coherent terms the dangerous imminent threat that climate change is, instead of being too soft and giving the impression that climate change can be tackled with small incremental changes
People like @kasujja and @adoniaayebare deserve recognition.
At a time when headlines can damage a country’s reputation in hours, it he two have consistently stepped forward to correct misinformation around the Ebola situation in the region and clearly communicate that Uganda has no confirmed localized outbreak. That matters.
As someone who has spent years challenging the lazy stereotype that Ugandan coffee is “cheap” or “low quality,” I understand how dangerous misinformation can be. Once a false narrative spreads internationally, it affects businesses, tourism, investment, and national confidence.
We need more Ugandans willing to defend the truth about our country — professionally, consistently, and without fear. Whether it is public health, coffee, tourism, technology, or culture, Uganda should be defined by facts and excellence, not assumptions.
Respect to Alan and Ayebare for standing in that gap. 🇺🇬
Uganda’s energy transition must go beyond lighting homes. The next frontier is productive use:
☀️ Solar irrigation
❄️ Solar cold chains
🌾 Solar agro-processing
🚜 Solar-powered agriculture
This is where energy access becomes:
✔️ food security
✔️ climate resilience
✔️ rural industrialization
✔️ jobs and incomes
Uganda has the potential to become Africa’s leading model for integrating agriculture, productive energy use, and decentralized solar systems.
The future of energy transition in Africa is not only about megawatts.
It is about transforming livelihoods.

I wish to thank His Excellency the President @KagutaMuseveni for handing over the protection of Bugoma Forest to @ugwildlife to ensure its preservation from encroachers. I also thank H.E. for the directive, communicated through the Prime Minister, to evict all those who had encroached on the forest, including kingdom officials, Hoima Sugar Ltd, MZ Ltd, and others claiming ownership of land within the forest reserve that was gazetted in 1932.
Why should anyone claim ownership of land that was gazetted in 1932? Why should Government even consider compensating encroachers at any point? Those who encroached on the forest should instead be charged accordingly. Ministry of Lands officials, local authorities, and even kingdom officials who connived in issuing titles or selling gazetted land should also be investigated, charged, and imprisoned where necessary.
No compensation for encroachers. It is our collective duty to preserve our heritage and protect our shared natural resources for future generations.

One of the 10 electric buses deployed by Kiira Motors has begun operations today along the Kampala-Ntinda route, marking the rollout of the company’s new public transport service. A conductor, speaking on condition of anonymity because he is not authorised to address the media, said the buses are part of a wider citywide rollout aimed at easing public transport. The fare is Shs2,000, payable electronically, with no cash accepted.

@PGDynes The #IPCC#AR6 was loud on this. Climate inaction in the wake of these catastrophic life-threatening changes is suicidal & spells doom for our food systems, livelihoods, and will erode gains in poverty reduction and food security.
@ClimateInstit@Ryan_B_Ness@lraitt@doniveson Integrating climate change in building codes and standards will go a long way in fostering a climate resilient & low carbon housing sector, safeguarded from climate induced wildfires & floods.
Good news: 🇨🇦 is making important changes to funding programs to help communities make housing and infrastructure more resilient in the wake of climate change-fueled disasters like wildfires and floods.
