@MuseumCommodore The coders for the ST and Amiga versions of Airborne Ranger made a spiritual successor, Special Forces. (I did the graphics for Special Forces).
@keremgoart Ah cheers. Yeah looking back on it now, me not getting the perspective of the trees correct accidentally made the figure look larger than I intended. Happy accident eh! 😁
Wow! I was the artist / designer for the original AtariST, Amiga and PC versions.
I never knew a c64 version existed. Evidently I missed your tweet from almost seven years ago! 😬
Viking Child
Early #C64 conversion of the semi-popular #Amiga game that had more than a hint of Wonderboy in Monsterland about it. Sadly the conversion didn't get far at all.

@arosbottom@unirespecter IMHO Hardware & Software limitations triggers the creative imagination big time. Finding ways to create the image in your mind against all obstacles... both challenging & inspiring.

@unirespecter To be fair to modern games, back in period, us artists were 'aiming' for realism. We knew we'd never achieve realism with the tech available but we also weren't thinking "lets make our games look liminal and dreamlike for the next generation of players.

@coopuk@LeilaniDowding Now is not the time legally-cautious language. The PR team should have expressed their [hopefully] true feelings.
Something along the lines of
"We are absolutely horrified by what's happened. There will be immediate action taken against the driver once we work out who it was"
I should have left that gorgeous chip music playing... Hey ho, this is Viking Child for Atari ST. Have you played this cool platformer? Darn excellent... https://t.co/A39n26NPz1

@exQUIZitely Have you ever covered Gemini Wing? That was the 1st arcade shmup I had to play & study intently. I worked on the AtariST conversion though my gfx didn't make it to the final release cause the size of the ST sprites was changed after I left Imagitec (devhouse doing the conversion)
