On the eve of the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, NTPC WR-I Headquarters, Mumbai, celebrated National Sports Day 2026.

The event was organised on 29 August 2026 to promote fitness, well-being, teamwork and an active lifestyle among employees and their family members.

The games at this event included Pickleball, Cricket, Table Tennis, Carrom, Tug of War, Plank Challenge, Badminton, Lemon Race and Skipping, creating an atmosphere of healthy competition, energy and camaraderie.

NTPC WR-I celebrates the 80th Independence Day with pride and renewed commitment to nation-building.

Shri E. Satya Phani Kumar, Regional Executive Director (West-I), hoisted the National Flag and highlighted NTPC’s contribution to India’s energy security, sustainability and growth.

The celebrations also marked the launch of a one-year cancer awareness and screening programme in collaboration with Tata Memorial Centre, promoting prevention and early detection.The event featured cultural performances and a fancy dress competition by children, reflecting the spirit of patriotism, unity and community participation.

🤝 मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांच्या प्रमुख उपस्थितीत महाराष्ट्र शासन (जलसंपदा विभाग) आणि नॅशनल थर्मल पॉवर कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेड (NTPC) यांच्यात उदंचन जलविद्युत प्रकल्पांसाठी सुधारित सामंजस्य करार करण्यात आला.

सामंजस्य कराराची वैशिष्ट्ये :
✅ दि. 03.09.2024 रोजी झालेल्या मूळ सामंजस्य करारात सुधारणा
✅ सविस्तर सर्वेक्षण व तांत्रिक विश्लेषणानंतर प्रकल्प क्षमतेत वाढ
✅ केंद्रीय विद्युत प्राधिकरणाच्या (CEA) सूचनांनुसार सुधारणा

🔸 प्रकल्प तपशील :
▪️ अंबा पंप्ड स्टोरेज प्रकल्प (PSP)
📍 ता. मावळ, पुणे (अप्पर रिझर्व्हॉयर) / रायगड (लोअर रिझर्व्हॉयर)
✅ पूर्वीची स्थापित क्षमता - 800 मेगावॅट
✅ सुधारित क्षमता - 1500 मेगावॅट
✅ क्षमता वाढ - (+) 700 मेगावॅट

▪️ कुंभे पंप्ड स्टोरेज प्रकल्प (PSP)
📍 ता. माणगाव, जि. रायगड (अप्पर / लोअर रिझर्व्हॉयर)
✅ पूर्वीची स्थापित क्षमता - 1000 मेगावॅट
✅ सुधारित क्षमता - 1100 मेगावॅट
✅ क्षमता वाढ - (+) 100 मेगावॅट

🔸 एकूण क्षमता वाढ - (+) 800 मेगावॅट
🔸 एकूण स्थापित क्षमता - 2600 मेगावॅट

आतापर्यंत मंजूर झालेल्या एकूण 60 प्रकल्पांद्वारे 82,015 मेगावॅट वीज निर्मिती क्षमता अपेक्षित असून, यामुळे सुमारे ₹4.28 लाख कोटींची गुंतवणूक आणि सुमारे 1.31 लाख रोजगार निर्माण होणार आहेत.

यावेळी मंत्री गिरीष महाजन, मंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे व वरिष्ठ अधिकारी उपस्थित होते.
