We joined forces with @ArranGeopark today for a hugely successful litter pile pick from remote areas of South Arran. Thxs so much to @ArranOutdoor for the use of their Dinghy "Wee Archie" and our funders for supporting this project.
It'll be great if @scotgov follow this series

Nature plays a huge role in the lives of Jenny, Megan and Lucy, who all live and work on Arran.
They believe a Natural Environment Bill with legally binding targets is needed to protect and restore Scotland's nature 🍃

We were delighted to partner up with @NatureScot marine monitoring team in August to continue monitoring of seabed habitats and scallop populations in Lamlash Bay

The @scotgov is legally required to address impacts of harmful fishing on the environment - a duty they have repeatedly neglected. It’s time for them to heed the call of the Scottish people & reform fisheries management as sustainable fishing is essential to protect livelihoods
People across Scotland understand how important nature is to our livelihoods and wellbeing.
Recent polling showed that people living in rural Scotland especially think that @scotgov should do more to make farming & fishing greener: https://t.co/MsP4FiH1Oi

"My lifetime has coincided with the great age of ocean discovery. In this film, we share those wonderful discoveries, uncover why our ocean is in such poor health and, perhaps most importantly, show how it can bounce back to life."

Together with @kingcharlesfund we can drive impactful initiatives that will protect & restore the waters around Arran, setting a shining example for sustainable marine management both nationally and globally.
One of the charities awarded funding is @ArranCoast. This pioneering charity established Scotland’s first No-Take Zone in Lamlash Bay which provides a crucial breeding and nursery ground for various marine species, and this was subsequently followed by the creation of the South Arran Marine Protected Area in 2016.
Our funding will help to protect and restore these areas, and enable COAST to share learning nationally and globally.
