102 years ago, on December 5, in Rome, the capital of Italy, at the age of 21, Arshavir Shiragian assassinated one of the organizers of the Armenian Genocide, Turkish Prime Minister Mehmed Said Halim Pasha.
In 1913-1917, Said Halim Pasha served as the Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire. During the Armenian Genocide, he signed orders for the deportation of the Armenian population.
As part of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation's Nemesis operation, Arshavir Shiragian was following Halim in Rome. When Halim was returning from a walk with his bodyguard in a carriage, Arshavir jumped on the carriage and killed him.
