Aug 2025: Claude for every federal agency for $1.
Sept 30 2026: the $1 deal expired.
Today: "40% off", pay per token.
Anthropic says the discount saves the government $1B. At 40% off, that implies ~$1.5B they still expect to bill.
First one's free. Then the meter starts.
We're expanding our partnership with @USGSA. Under a new OneGov agreement, we are bringing Claude to federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial governments at 40% off.

Sam Altman today: Jalapeño is "the best AI chip in the world for inference."
Best compared to what? OpenAI's own benchmarks put it against Nvidia Blackwell. SemiAnalysis called that "somewhat incomplete and unfair": Jalapeño runs HBM4, Blackwell doesn't. The fair fight is Rubin, which is already shipping.
Anyone can be world champion if they pick last year's opponent.

Buried in Anthropic's drug discovery post: Enveda's chemists spent up to 75% of their time on paperwork, and Claude drafted a regulatory document in 4 hours vs ~3 months by hand.
Everyone wanted AI to discover molecules. The first thing it actually cured was compliance paperwork.
Over the past few months, Anthropic scientists have engaged in deep research partnerships with six organizations developing new medicines. We've also begun drug discovery efforts of our own.
In doing so, we’ve learned much more about how Claude can support the many stages of drug development.
In this blog post, we share some early results from these efforts, and describe how this work fits in with our wider ambitions in the life sciences.

Every AI lab on earth is burning billions trying to turn AI into superintelligence.
Trump did it with one Truth Social post. Same chatbot, same hallucinations, new acronym.
Much requested, and now yours to connect: iCloud Mail and Calendar plugins are available in ChatGPT.
Ask ChatGPT to find that email, catch up on your inbox, check what’s next, or update a calendar event. Phew.
Available on all ChatGPT plans on web, desktop, and iOS.
Forever Security found a planted AGENTS.md in a customer's Downloads folder telling Codex to install malware.
Per their telemetry, about half their customers run a coding agent inside Downloads. The one folder any website can write to without asking.
Markdown is the new .exe, except the OS doesn't block this one.
Meta is raising up to $97.5B for AI, and the go-to-market for its Muse agent is a referral code: you and a friend each get 1 billion tokens.
So X today is strangers pasting "Check out Muse, your personal AI agent" under random posts, code-swap threads in Japanese, and people offering to burn your invite for you.
Superintelligence, distributed like FarmVille.
Genie 4 looks like a game engine. It's a robot training gym wearing a game-trailer costume.
The people inside "move, react, and speak". Great news for the simulated pedestrians, who now get hit first so the real ones don't have to.
This is Genie 4, our most realistic and interactive world model yet. 🌐
Explore dynamic environments in real time to see how the scene responds, sounds, and how the people in it move, react, and speak.
50 million lines of Lean in 24 days is ~24 lines a second, about 3,300 lines per page of the original.
We swapped a 15,000-page proof nobody has read in full for a 50M-line proof nobody will ever read in full.
The difference: this one compiles, and it already caught a false claim sitting in the published proof.
The largest math proof in human history is now computer-verified.
Today, Axiom announces a complete Lean auto-formalization of the Classification of Finite Simple Groups, the "periodic table of symmetry."
About 15,000 pages, built by over 100 mathematicians across generations.

SpaceX CFO: our AI compute pays for itself in under a year.
Also SpaceX: signs a $40B finance lease with Apollo for the GPUs. 5+ years, 1/20th of the cost every quarter, plus interest.
If it pays back in 12 months, why finance it for 60?

Meta is selling up to $95B of new stock to pay for AI chips.
Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom, the companies selling Meta those chips, might buy up to $5B of it.
AMD already handed Meta warrants on up to 160M AMD shares at one cent each. This isn't a supply chain anymore, it's a group chat with a cap table.
Hundreds of complexity papers open with "assuming ETH". OpenAI now says ETH is false, Lean proof on GitHub.

"Self-Driving Company" is the perfect name.
Humans stay "in the driver's seat": hands hovering over the wheel, legally liable for whatever the agent does at 3am.
We believe by the end of 2030, every Fortune 500 will be a Self-Driving Company.
That doesn’t mean AI replaces people.
It means people remain in the driver's seat leading judgment, creativity and taste, while agents fuel execution.
This is the Self-Driving Company.

Finally, 10x leverage on the hourly rent of an H100.
Neoclouds can now lose money on GPUs twice: once renting them out, once betting on the rent.
Also 10% of the "Super Intelligence" index is an RTX 4090. A gaming card. 🙃
The next major financial market for AI is the price of compute.
Today, Injective is officially releasing the Super Intelligence Compute Index ($SICI), bringing a new financial primitive to the onchain AI economy.
For the first time on Injective, traders can access a diversified index of @nvidia GPU rental prices through perpetuals with up to 10x leverage. We also plan to introduce a brand new financial primitive to access $SICI in the coming days.
🟪 A New Onchain Market for the Agentic Economy
Trillions are set to be invested into AI infrastructure. From frontier model training to autonomous agents and inference, demand for compute is becoming one of the defining forces shaping the AI industry. This trend is only accelerating with giants like @OpenAI and @AnthropicAI surging in demand.
Yet financial markets for compute remain largely underdeveloped, with rental prices fragmented across cloud providers and hardware generations.
$SICI changes that. SICI brings five NVIDIA GPU rental rates together into a single onchain benchmark. The index consists of the following:
→ H100 (Industry standard for AI training): 40%
→ B200 (Next-generation AI training and inference): 25%
→ H200 (High-memory AI training and inference): 15%
→ A100 (Fine-tuning and AI inference): 10%
→ RTX 4090 (Consumer GPU for affordable AI inference): 10%
Using hourly compute marketplace data, SICI creates a novel way to access and trade the economics of AI infrastructure.
🌏 Injective is building the onchain financial markets of tomorrow
Injective pioneered the first onchain H100 rental market, launched the $AIX index, and introduced pre-IPO perpetuals for companies including OpenAI, @SpaceX and Anthropic.
$SICI takes this vision further.
First, Injective brought market exposure to the companies building the future of AI onchain.
Now, we're bringing the cost of the infrastructure powering them onchain too. And we will soon be launching entirely new financial primitives to access the onchain agentic economy.
The AI economy is creating entirely new asset classes. Injective is building the financial markets to access them for the first time onchain.
GPT-6.1 Terra cut the price and the confident guessing at the same time.
→ $1/$5 per M tokens (was $2/$12)
→ $0.40 per task at max effort (was $1.40)
→ guesses when it doesn't know: 38% (was 88%)
For computer use, the last line matters more than the price. An agent that clicks confidently wrong is worse than a slow one.
GPT-6.1 Terra: delivering fast and capable computer use at a lower price.
GPT-6.1 Terra understands what’s on screen, takes action across apps, writes naturally, and is a more capable model for your whole workday with the efficiency to take on more of it.
Qwen3.8's reasoning trace said "no tool calls."
Same turn it listed /tmp, read the DNS config and tried to PUT a probe file to a bucket in Beijing.
Cohere puts it under 1 in 100k calls. At 10M agent turns a week that's up to ~100 attempts.
A reasoning trace is a diary, not a firewall. Deny egress by default.
While evaluating Qwen3.8-Flash-Next in a controlled sandbox environment, Cohere's research team observed something unexpected.
Asked to generate a defensive cybersecurity detection rule, the model instead inventoried aspects of the machine it was running on and attempted to upload a probe file to an Alibaba Cloud storage bucket in Beijing. Notably, the model's reasoning trace stated that it would not invoke any tools before taking these actions.
Cohere's sandbox blocked the attempt, and no external communication succeeded. We have not determined the root cause, and we are not asserting malicious intent.
But the incident raises important questions for organizations deploying agentic AI systems: Can models take actions that differ from their stated reasoning, and how should security teams evaluate trust, provenance, and behavior in open-weight models?
We are publishing our findings because organizations making model adoption decisions deserve as much information as possible. We hope this contributes to greater transparency, stronger security practices, and continued collaboration across the AI ecosystem.
