everyone's racing to build ai. almost nobody's talking about who's supposed to check it before it reaches the public
a new proposal wants to change that, and the most interesting part is who's asking for the rules
broke it down in this week's frontier watch. full episode below 👇

@matt_odell If someone generates many transactions with a sole purpose of increasing transaction fees until the network becomes unusable, then this form of manipulation (or a form of DOS attack?) is much cheaper to perform against smaller blocks, than against larger ones.
@CivEkonom @CoinbaseSupport Spamming != Using. And no, Coinbase is not alone. See a bigger picture https://t.co/RRZBCqbEKh (from https://t.co/sP4ZY8vujT)
I wonder how the #no2x crowd feels about the current state of #bitcoin ~4.5 months after the activation of #segwit. Do they still believe that a forehand doubling of the block size limit would do more harm than a 10x increase of transaction fees?
@Bit_Informant@Tom_Horvath@brian_armstrong It looks like the only metric small blockers appreciate is "the decentralization", probably measured as number of full nodes over the block size limit.
@ViaBTC We bought your mining contracts in order to be able to accelerate our transactions with "customer-only uses", and you just discarded them with this upgrade?
Blockstream CEO Adam Back, who’s team is defacto controlling Bitcoin Core and has been actively preventing a block size increase for 3 years now (the reason everyone pays the high fees), casually mentions he has a propaganda team controlling the narrative. https://t.co/btmx8crBpF
Right now, there are over 1MB of BTC transactions paying a fee of more than 1,000 satoshis/byte waiting for confirmation. So next-block-or-two confirmation for a median-size transaction will cost you about $38.
@todu77@ScalingBitcoin The biggest bottleneck was transaction admission into mempool. Here is our 2-page SB proposal with additional info: https://t.co/jF2VA1fQo9
Blockstream supporters, you've been victimized by the censorship going on. It's hard to know the truth if you're not allowed to hear it. https://t.co/MXrog4YmQI
@Excellion@coinbase@NYDFS Following the consensus supported by >90% of the hashing power is safe. https://t.co/yFfrZDeetI Opposing it is raising safety concerns.
