The #Mizoram government has announced a cash reward of Rs 25 lakh each for Indian women's hockey players Lalremsiami and Lalthantluangi for their contribution to the team's #gold medal-winning campaign at the 2026 #AsianGames in Japan.

The two Mizo players were part of the Indian women's hockey team that defeated China 1-0 in the final to clinch the gold medal, ending a 44-year wait for the title.

If a truck driver attempts to hit an elephant in india, it is treated as a highly severe, non bailable criminal offense. Under the Wild life (Protection) Act, 1972, the Asian Elephant is listed under Schedule I, which grants it the absolute highest level of legal protection.

Even if the driver "tries" to hit the elephant and fails, attempting to harm or disturb a protected animals carries the exact same weight as the act itself under Section 52 of the Act.
