@michael_chomsky how else are they supposed to verify your social credit score before allowing you to pay for this boba using their privately-issued UBI?
@ErikVoorhees calling this communism is a category error. the state isn’t replacing private capital with worker control; it’s cutting itself into private AI capital and folding it into natsec power. that’s authoritarian capitalism / adjacent -- upper right.
@torabyou ethereum isn’t a business. if it can’t sustain itself as a network without a small group deciding its direction from the top, the experiment has failed.

Bro I'm so sick of pretending this isn't weird.
The internet spent 20 years creating tutorials, open-source projects, blog posts & answers for free.
AI companies turned all of it into products worth billions.
And now the same people who created that knowledge are being told they're replaceable.
We built the library.
Someone else started charging admission.

ethereum does not require yet another synthetic dollar facsimile nor the endlessly recursive proliferation of so-called “decentralized” stables whose entire ontological reference remains parasitically tethered to $1, a unit external to the system they claim to emancipate themselves from. because all that has occurred is the superficial excision of intermediaries while the epistemic anchor remains fiat itself, importing its monetary policy, its inflationary bias, its political surface area, and its latent vectors of capture, which renders the entire construct philosophically incoherent despite its technical ornamentation. so one must conclude that what is actually needed is an endogenous unit of account native to ethereum’s own economic substrate, instantiated purely onchain, devoid of custodial dependencies, issuer discretion, or oracle-mediated epistemology. where purchasing power is not rhetorically asserted but emergently enforced through transparent and deterministic mechanisms, with inflation resistance embedded at the architectural layer rather than deferred to governance theater. permissionless in both issuance and utilization, devoid of coercible interfaces, and therefore approaching a form of monetary sovereignty that is internally consistent, censorship resistant, and fundamentally unassailable. whereas everything else remains an elaborate exercise in reconstituting the very system it purports to transcend under the guise of innovation.
@Etherealize_io it's plutocratic by design & only sustains itself on paper if we assume the benevolence of ppl / entities who *could* afford to outcapitalize the attack floor. increasingly difficult to accept at face value these days given the scale of consolidating power we're up against
Ethereum is inspired by tools that keep the internet open under pressure.
@torproject protects freedom online by routing traffic through distributed relays, reducing tracking, surveillance, and censorship.
We’re excited to see @ScopeLift carry Tally into its next chapter as Cactus 🤝
@tallyxyz has been important governance infra for many of us over the years, and we’re confident the future of onchain orgs is in good hands with the ScopeLift team 🫡
Please welcome @CactusHQxyz 💚
On June 12, a US Commerce export control directive forced Claude Fable 5 offline for every user worldwide – three days after launch, no restoration date.
Anthropic opposed the order.
The model went dark anyway.
Every user depended on one company inside one government’s jurisdiction.
This is what concentration costs: access lasts exactly as long as someone else allows.
The fix is infrastructure no single company or government can unilaterally switch off. 💚
